    I know last offseason was terrible, but this seems like an awfully boring/slow Winter Meetings this year. I used to always look forward to all the trades and signings that come out of these.

    Are you the one who's been all about Richie Martin for what seems like months? If we trade Russell before tomorrow afternoon, then sure.

    I still want to believe we can convince someone like the Mets to trade for him. Maybe put a garbage package of him and Chatwood together to the Royals or Padres for peanuts. My latest dream is some weird version of Russell, Chatwood and a prospect like Steele to the Jays for Russell Martin and the burning wreckage of Marcus Stroman.

    Angels are signing former Cubs minor leaguer Justin Bour.

    I'm putting zero stock into these rumors, and at the same time, inject them all into my veins.

    So trade Russell to a team like the Mets or Padres or Royals and then add a prospect and bribe someone like the Angels into taking Chatwood's contract and then trade Almora or Happ for pitching prospects and there ya go.

    That one dude ABTY or whatever it was threw a fit awhile back and now mostly rants and raves about the Bears on Twitter. There was another guy, Marlin, I think, who knew some stuff. I only ever lurked on there time to time. A few other guys here might know more.

    Something needs to happen because we're already debating January crazy stuff like Vegas signage.

    Yeah, I was more focused on Lee. Baines would open the door for a lot of others. McGriff should then get in. Carlos Delgado deserves more consideration than he got on the ballot.

    At some point, I'd love to hear the reasoning behind this series of moves. It's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but it's so bizarre. And he's a cheap middle infielder that would've made sense to stash at Iowa.

    We have a lot of interesting talent several years away and some unexciting arms that could help next year. Between that is barren. Kinda surprised Rucker, Swarmer and Assad missed the top 31 given the system is weak and the former two seem to have high floors and the latter has some good stuff. I kinda have Rucker, Swarmer, Mills, Thompson all in the same boat. I feel like any or all of them could pitch in the majors in 2019.

    Day 1 of the Winter Meetings in Vegas: Harper calls a press conference. Sits at a table with hats of the Phillies, Nats, Dodgers, Yankees in front of him. Says he has decided. Then, Anthony Rizzo appears, flips the table. Kris Bryant walks out, hands Bryce a Cubs hat, he puts it on, everyone rejoices. Edwards appears from off camera doing the worm across the floor and Theo casually hands Hoyer a towel.

    Man, it felt like I was hit in the stomach when I saw this. He was such a fun player.

    Justin Hancock signed with the Nippon Ham Fighters in Japan. Now we have nothing to show for the Matt Szczur trade.

    I'm now expecting some weird Seager and Gordon to the Angels for Cozart and Adell trade.

    Looks like the deal will be official tomorrow with Crawford going to Seattle and potentially Carlos Santana to balance out the money. If that happens, the Mariners will have Santana, Bruce, Healy, Vogelbach for 1 DH spot. If they trade Seager and Gordon, they could have the worst defensive team in baseball next year.
