Interesting. You could also say the're set if they want to be, with Castro, Asdrubal and Kieboom taking turns at second and third. It lessens the pressure but also guards them if they trade Kieboom.
Kevin Plawecki got a major league contract from Boston, and Chirinos is apparently close to signing. If we're trading Wily (I don't want to), we're probably doing it soon, with more catchers off the board.
Interesting list. Some of the pitcher placements seem questionable but many of the pitchers in our system are interchangeable. My biggest surprise was the low placement of Ademan.
Just looking at what teams still need, the Twins have struck out on pitching and have a great team and shaky rotation as it stands. Would something like Chatwood for Jake Cave be something that interests anyone? OR we could go hog wild and do Quintana, Almora and a prospect or two for Buxton.
Is Kipnis still available? How about Dozier? Someone? or nah There's still several 2B in that similar 2nd division starter tier still available: - Brock Holt - Jason Kipnis - Scooter Gennett - Asdrubal Cabrera - Brad Miller - Joe Panik And that's just the lefties, since it sounds like they want someone to compliment Nico. So while I'm not too worried about 2B specifically, I do think it's hard to not be worried about FA more broadly. Yeah it's just frustrating. We're probably "fine" if we go Happ/Almora in CF and Hoerner/Happ/Descalso/Kemp/Bote at second but it's underwhelming and putting a lot of pressure on things breaking right.
The Tigers are trying to be the Twins; they just signed Cron and Schoop to one year deals after each played for the Twins last season on one year deals.
Hooray the offseason is saved! He's actually a nice depth piece to have in Iowa as he can hit a little and field and has starting experience but it says a lot when this is like our second biggest acquisition this offseason and it's almost Christmas.
Indians are getting Delino Deshields Jr. and relief prospect Emmanuel Clase. That's.....really underwhelming. I guess it was all about salary relief. Rangers basically got Kluber for Almora and Maples.
Lost Machin and Rucker too so far. I figured Machin was as good as gone. I had hopes for Rucker and bummed he's gone but he got taken by the Orioles so I'm sure we'll see him make his MLB debut in 2020.
Dude has solid numbers and strikes out a ton of batters without walking many or giving up many homers. Why not see if he can stick, I like it. We also took Brock Stewart in the minor league portion of the draft. He''s from Normal, IL and has 105 mostly terrible major league innings to his name already.
