    I assumed that Baez and Rizzo were the most likely extensions and I think a lot of people feel the same. I want so badly to keep Bryant too but Boras clients generally don't stay put and I don't see the horsefeathering Ricketts shelling out the kind of money to keep him from testing the market. Maybe Rizzo stays for something like 6/90 and Baez accepts a one year deal with an option as a prove it after a down year last year and a meh season this year.

    I am a baseball card collector/nerd and got into the habit of sending cards through the mail to players for them to sign. I've been mostly successful and received signed cards back from guys like Sandberg, Dawson, Dunston, Glenn Beckert, Don Kessinger, Zambrano, Adbert, Seal Boy, etc. I've also gotten returns from some obscure players like Dubois. He sent back to me in like a week.

    It's fine. Joc hasn't done super well this year so getting an interesting prospect isn't too bad. This essentially signals the sell off if they were any doubt before.

    Yeah I can be a little trigger happy on making jokes about people's misfortunes (you have to laugh, right?). It's a bad situation and hope the kids are ok and it can be settled relatively painlessly. But at the same time, cmon, that story is insane.

    Yeah I mean the big thing was we haven't been able to develop pitching. Alzolay and Keegan Thompson already look like they belong. Maples, Steele and Nance have been solid parts of the pen this year. And guys like Abbott and Marquez are on the cusp of making an impact. It took awhile but we're starting to see it happen.
