Esteban Quiroz and Jared Young outrighted to Iowa.
-
40 man down to 36 people after the moves. So have these guys been sent to Iowa or are they choosing FA? None of those are surprises really.
-
I like him a lot and was able to chat with him after a game last season. The league figured him out pretty hard this year. Maybe he can get his swing back in Iowa. Maybe.
-
Great guy and a legend for the Game 7 speech but it's the right call. I've honestly been waiting for it for awhile now. So does he get to seek a trade and Cubs trade a prospect to find a taker or do we just eat a year of his salary and release him?
-
I dig it. He could absolutely rake before this year. Still just 27. Feels like Frazier never really got a fair shake. Also I love Tank but this probably means he's bound for the bench or Iowa shuttle.
-
The Rangers DFAd Steele Walker, a prospect I've liked awhile. Still has an option and is a lefty bat. Maybe we'll take a look.
-
Dermody makes 40 even if the team site is completely up to date. That was my thought. I wanna see guys like Leeper and Mekkes get a look but they probably didn't want to rush them up for a double header. Or I haven't followed Iowa the last few days so I don't know who is healthy or rested.

Pitching prospect Saul Gonzalez is the return for Givens. I know nothing about him.
-
Now please extend willy and happ. Both want to be here.

I'm a fan.

Jay's are trading Jordan Groshans for Marlins reliever Zach Pop. So they're willing to deal.

This is the most power Hosmer has had all season.
-
Nats also getting Gore and another major leaguer according to Passan.

Heyman and Nightingale saying Soto to Padres. Morosi says Cardinals refuse to include Carlson.

If we do a big deal with Toronto anyone think Danny Jansen as part of the return given the presence of Kirk and Moreno? We lack a good catcher in the upper minors with Amaya a question mark.

We're getting SP Hayden Wesneski, the Yankees 7th ranked prospect by MLB. Currently in AAA.
-
I do not like this. Effross is definitely a guy that was gonna be part of the pen for awhile and is cheap and controllable. I hope the Yankees overpaid.
-
He can play multiple positions and has crushed AAA. Would've preferred an interesting lottery ticket but it's not terrible for a soon to be FA middle reliever.
-
That's a hell of a haul for Cincy.

What are thoughts on Campusano? We lack top of the organization catching and they also have Nola and Alfaro. Part of me gets the feeling we're going to be underwhelmed at the time.

Cubs Trade Jesse Chavez for Sean Newcomb
Post Count Padder replied to Bertz's topic in Chicago Cubs Talk
Yeah I love this deal. There's gotta be something there still with Newcomb. He was just such a great prospect and had a few good years in the bigs already. I know the Braves DFAd him so they had to do something but kinda wild they're sending him for a guy who's basically at the end of the road. -
I'm annoyed about Abbott. Really thought he at least could be an interesting relieved and would rather think get a look than Letter. And yeah aside from Adbert who's how hurt we really have no homegrown starters to speak of for like a decade.

I saw some mention of Manny Rodriguez to the 60 day. Idk if that's accurate.
