    Nah, Musgrove is a way better with a high ceiling in general. Lucchesi's competent enough and will help the Mets fill innings during the regular season, but if they make the playoffs he's not starting. The Padres have way more interesting lefties down their depth chart with Morejon and Gore Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

    I had wanted him back on a cheap one year deal but it was mostly for emotional reasons. He might have something left in the tank and I wish him well but I'll/we'll get over him leaving.

    Feels like the Pirates got a better return for Musgrove than they did for Cole, no? Also Padres gave up a lot for a No. 3-4 starter, unless they think Lucchesi is broken.

    Angels signed Kurt Suzuki. I know he's not really a full time starter anymore but that seems to pour cold water on the Contreras to Angels trade rumors. Maybe Marlins now or Phillies if they don't bring back Realmuto. I'd be fine keeping him too.

    So with this deal the Mets don't need both of McNeil and Rosario right? It's a major splash for them now yes but they could end up missing Gimenez quickly if Lindor hits the market.

    I'm fine with Robbie Grossman going elsewhere. Nice player but feels like we could do better. As for Contreras, give me Jordyn Adams, Packy Naughton and Griffin Canning please. (it ain't happening but I can hope)

    Is Brailyn's arm going to explode or will he just disappoint? I feel like Brailyn won't be ready to be in the rotation for the start of 2022? I also have a hard time seeing Rea in the picture there unless he has a solid 2021 and we have no other guys. Would put Keegan or Riley Thompson ahead of him if we're going just off who is in the organization right now. But yes, the point is that's pretty bleak.

    Jesus horsefeathering Christ this sucks. Couldn't even get Weathers or Morejon? Just something to add more value? It's a mid-rotation starter (at best) and a bunch of far away prospects that weren't highly ranked in the Padres' system for our ace and a solid catcher? What the horsefeathering horsefeathers.

    Jesse Rogers thinks the Cubs are getting 5 players and one of them is Zack Davies, fwiw. I don't think he has much inside info but if he's right, would we hate Davies, Morejon, Campusano, Cronenworth, low-end prospect for Yu and Caratini?
