  1. I always thought high socks made you look faster and skinnier. That's why I always wore high socks during my playing days.
  2. Marty Brodeur is awesome.
  3. I think Zambrano should bat cleanup.
  4. I prefer it that way.
  5. Any minute now somebody is going to post a lame "the deal is done but they don't want to announce it on the same day as [insert random current event] joke. It's coming, I can feel it. They want to wait until after St Patty's Day.
  6. i would consider that ok with me for an all-star 2B Mark Loretta is an all-star 2B. Do you want him to? not a good comparison....loretta is almost 40 You're missing the point. I'm not saying Loretta is as good as Roberts. I'm just sick of people using the "all-star" thing to validate the Roberts trade. We get it, he's good. Pointing out that he's an all-star just makes you look desperate. Being an all-star is meaningless when looking at trades. Absolutely meaningless. Especially when its the lone pitty All-Star every team has. Mark Redman says hi.
  7. i would consider that ok with me for an all-star 2B Mark Loretta is an all-star 2B. Do you want him to? Wasn't Neifi an All-Star?
  8. I would. I'm not convinced at all that Cedeno will ever be much of a hitter and Veal has some very serious question marks. Gallagher is a big loss, but Roberts helps this team quite a bit too. I wouldn't be dancing in the street over the trade, but I think it would be a net improvement for the Cubs. After what we've seen from Cedeno, I'm not entirely convinced that he'd produce well at the major league level. Sure he's young and his minor league numbers are tremendous. But he hasn't hit in the majors when given the opportunity. Veal wasn't great last year and though I'd include him in the trade, I did want to see what he was capable of this season. Gallagher I got over awhile ago because I assumed he was always going to be included.
  9. Oh how far the Cards have fallen from their undeservable grace.
  10. I'd actually love to see that.
  11. Be happy there are only 2 teams involved for once. I swear, everytime I see a Backtobanks post, I assume it's a three way trade proposal.
  12. Sad to hear. Get better Rick
  13. The Giants are talking to the Tigers about Brandon Inge. Definitely a rebuilding move.
  14. If the Cubs HAD signed Lincecum (47th rd pick in the 2003 draft), the Cubs we wouldn't be yearning about trading for him.....But doing that what if is a slippery slide. Going that route, you could also say "What if the Cubs signed Khalil Greene?"
