  1. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/features/column.aspx?sport=MLB&columnid=2&articleid=34139 Has us signing Felipe Lopez (2 years, $11 mil) and Chone Figgins (4 years, $48 mil) with the assumption of Lopez as our second baseman and Figgins as our center fielder. I highly doubt that happens.
  2. Home run numbers are pretty down to earth.
  3. I like Rotoworld and like getting their take on some things, but times like this, their two cents don't matter. Fair enough. I honestly can't see the Tigers trading him unless they're blown away with a package. And I don't know that our farm system is deep enough yet to make an offer that would blow anyone away without depleting it.
  4. I'd really like to see our guys from this draft come out big, like LeMahieu and Raley.
  5. I like Rotoworld and like getting their take on some things, but times like this, their two cents don't matter.
  6. Do not want. He won't be as good as he was last year. I'd rather have Cameron if it came down to that.
  7. I clicked on add to cart and shipping is 20 bucks.
  8. I'm pretty sure Shark has a NTC. Yeah, I keep forgetting about that. That was smart on Jim's part.
  9. Well, unlike those two, there's been no confirmed interest yet. Just people like Wittenmyer and Rogers saying the Cubs should go after him.
  10. Looks like he expects guys to bounce back (Fontenot, Soriano, Soto) but still only has us as an 83 win team.
  11. I don't know that I'd give up what the possible demands are, but I do think he'll bounce back this year. I'm sure they'd love a Vitters/ Theriot return. But then where does that leave us at shortstop? Get a one year stopgap like Tejada to give Castro another year to develop? If it were me, I'd offer Marshall, Fox, Castillo, Samardzija and a mid level pitching prospect.
  12. I think he might be. He's a switch hitter and he's consistently hit lefties better than righties. He's usually in the .700s OPS against righties. In his at least partly full seasons (2007-2009), he's posted an OPS of .535, .731 and .813. It's promising to me that he's gotten better each year and he's only 26. If nothing else, a platoon of him and Fontenot should be productive, though the same could be said of Baker. If the Royals would take Castillo or, especially, Hill, I might just do it. But I wouldn't give up more. I wouldn't give up Castillo for him. Castillo's stock took a hit this year but he still has potential. And Hill will be the backup again. Maybe Robinson or Clevenger but I don't know. I wouldn't give up much for him, but that's just me.
  13. He's not bad, but I wouldn't give up much. Is he really that much better than Fontenot?
  14. I'm not following the irony. Maybe "irony" wasn't the right word to use, but it's very unusual for somebody to play for someone they were once traded for.Unusual, coincidental maybe...but I wouldn't say ironic.
  15. Not a huge Castillo fan but it wouldn't be a horrible trade. It does free up money and a Baker/Castillo platoon at second isn't bad offensively. Defensively though... Still, I'd rather do this than for Burrell or a bad middle reliever.
  16. It's a pet peeve of mine that people assume "looks awkward" means bad defender. Matt Murton always looked awkward, and he's easily above average in LF. Soriano looks terribly awkward out there, but he wasn't below average with the Cubs until just last season. Well in Damon's case, he is a bad defender.
  17. Maybe. I'd rather see what Snyder or Fuld could do. There are better ways to allocate the funds we have for this offseason.
  18. Damon has a noodle arm and misreads flyballs. He always looks awkward roaming the outfield. He's also bound to drop off offensively one of these days. I'd stay away.
  19. I guess if Ben Grieve and Micah Hoffpauir can "play" the position, then I supposed Fox can to. Ultimately, it wouldn't surprise me if Fox is dealt to an AL team. Yeah, I can see Fox being dealt to the AL. Who wants to bet it's the O's and the return is not Brian Roberts?
  20. Bad trade for the Brewers. Gomez is fast and great defensively, but us worse that Corey Patterson at the plate and worse than Juan Pierre on the basepaths. Hardy is a nice pickup for the Twins, who could always use the offense.
  21. I honestly don't see a problem with Cameron on a one year deal. My concern is I could see Hendry giving him three or two with a player option.
  22. This game is still too close for comfort for me. And Michigan is driving.
