  1. That video made me cringe. Horrible thing to happen.
  2. The statue should be this pose: http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/deadspin/2009/11/mlb_g_bud1_600.jpg
  3. I don't hate him either. His '06 season was pretty good. I wish him luck.
  4. There's a chance for a playoff run. But my gut tells me we finish in second place and miss the wild card. I just don't think the team is a whole lot better than last year.
  5. That's a nice deal for the Twins. He's light years better than Punto. And Harris is better than Punto (thought not by much) so he should garner more at bats at third. They could compete in that division.
  6. Kennedy isn't bad...if it were 2002. The fact of the matter is last year was a fluke and he isn't getting any better. He was only a league average middle infielder during his (very brief) prime, anyway. I wouldn't want him either.
  7. He should be, if injuries didn't ruin his career. If he stayed healthy, he could've easily achieved HOF-worthy career stats.
  8. YES :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: I'm sorta scared we gave up way too much, but we needed a scoring threat like this. And he's only 26. Just gotta lock him up long term. will kovalchuk want to play long term in the trap? That'll work against it, but Devils are also in contention every year. That should factor into it too.
  9. And I'm perfectly OK with that. Oduya is replaceable with Andy Greene playing out of his mind and Bergfors is good but we have other good young forwards in the minors.

  11. Does this make one of Downs/Frasor more expendable?
  12. Someone will be getting a bottle of Molson chucked his way.
  13. aaron miles hit zero home runs in 170 plate appearances last year. it is very unlikely he would manage to do so in such a big spot. Which makes it all the more likely it happens. Just to spite us.
  14. He crossed the picket line and became replacement player during the '94 strike.
  15. I hope it happens. Yankees fans are getting excited at the prospect of having Mauer in pinstripes already. And the Twins need something like this, too.
  16. I don't think it's a big deal. Nady, Tracy and Hoffpauir would all be ahead of him on the depth chart anyway. The only way he makes the team is if he decides to hang around at Iowa and someone gets hurt.
  17. I dont think it warrented all that. The expletive wasn't really a bad word, but whatever I'm sick of Jim toying with my emotions! Now I have to hate him again! I hated him even when he was here.
  18. Good. I prefer Nady. Dye thinks he'd get more but I don't see other teams knocking each other out of the way to sign him.
  19. Imagine what he could've accomplished had he been healthy. Would be one of the best pitchers in the game. At this point, I'd just like to see him be able to appear in one game for anyone (except the Cards).
