  1. Solid trade for the Yanks. Way too many people overrate Cabrera.
  2. Good deal for the Jays, depending on the prospect.
  3. I'm glad someone said this. There is literally no way Zambrano would net Cano, much less a package of Cano and others. It's nice to think about, but yeah, the Yankees are in love with Cano. I could see them sending Melky and Hughes, but not with Cano involved.
  4. Well if I played for the Pirates I'd want a drink as soon as the game was over, too.
  5. Take with a grain of salt, because of the lack of sourcing. But worth posting anyway...
  6. I forgot he existed. What a blast from the past.
  7. Bigger 12 You win.
  8. Their season is going up in smoke.
  9. Gardner is an interesting name. I believe he's very highly regarded defensively and on the basepaths. He did a decent job of getting on base last year. It's possible he's Juan Pierre with better defense and baserunning. Which isn't bad at the money he's making. Yeah, I posted this in another thread. I wouldn't hate Gardner. BA compared him to Juan Pierre with better plate discipline. However, Gardner also is a better defender and steals at a better rate.
  10. If we have to go for speed, Gardner wouldn't be horrible. He's a younger, cheaper and slightly better version of Podsednik.
  11. Well, it shows they're exploring options at least. Maybe not good ones though.
  12. I don't think Crisp is gonna be all that good anymore. He was never the same after he left the Indians.
  13. Interesting story. I wondered what happened to him.
  14. Given the options, it's disappointing Hendry won't consider Johnny Damon. He isn't returning to the Yankees with the signing of Nick Johnson. He's lefty, speedy and could fill Hendry's desire for a leadoff guy. No, his defense isn't great, but I'd prefer him over Byrd, Podsednik and Ankiel.
  15. If we add a 12th school, do we become the Big 12 Part II? Or Big 12 squared? I didn't read the first 13 pages, am I the first person to make that lame joke?
  16. Brodeur nabs another record. So awesome.
  17. About as likely as Carlos Silva winning the Cy Young.
  18. This sucks, though I'd rather Byrd than Podsednik. If Byrd would sign a two year deal for 12-15 mil, I would live with it. Wouldn't be happy, but I'd live with it.
