  1. Well I ate my words when I said Hendry wouldn't be stupid enough to make this deal. Horrible, just completely and utterly horrible.
  2. That would be too horrible. And we can rag on Hendry all we want but trades are his forte. I don't believe he'd make a trade that stupid. If it was a free agent, that's another story.
  3. This would be great but you have hitters who are an abomination in the field and DH is their only reasonable position. It will never be removed.
  4. Seems like the Phils are giving up a lot, but Halladay will be awesome now that he's out of the AL East and AL altogether.
  5. well, can't disagree with that :). I guess I was just looking at him as a solid signing, in general, not necessarily for us. Yeah, I think he'd be a good pickup but we have other needs.
  6. I love beating the Flyers. So much fun.
  7. This thread took a turn quickly.
  8. Putz is good. But should we be wasting money on him with the other needs we have? No.
  9. Well if he comes back and tears it up in May (and the rest of the year) I think fans may forgive and forget.
  10. Milton Bradley...on the Yankees...that's a match made in heaven. How long before the fans would call for his head?
  11. He'd be Milton Bradley without the plate discipline. No.
  12. I'm not even attempting that.
  13. But Hee Seop Choi appeared in a home run derby...
  14. Thank you Bruce. Hear anything juicy or is it basically calm, besides the trade?
  15. Not a great deal. He'll be a little better offensively, but won't provide the same defense. He won't make or break their playoff odds though.
  16. Why not, he's a future DH in the AL. Because he doesn't hit well enough to cover up for his terrible defense? Is it that hard to understand? Your comments describe Cust perfectly too. And I think Fox is better than Cust with his .239 career average. Cust is actually probably the upside of Fox. Cust has a career .829 OPS, he's fairly valuable. But Cust's plate patience is much better than Fox's.
  17. We trade Miles, then go after this guy. Way to make me hate you again Hendry.
  18. Gray seems like a decent cheap reliever and the other two seem like they have some potential. That might not sound great, but it's awesome considering they took Miles off our hands. Thank you Billy Beane.
