  1. As has been said, I like the moves we made generally. But it sucks we didn't get a bigger SP. And our bench is better but still not great. We're a better team now, yes, but not remarkably so. And it's annoying because if we're not gonna pay up with prospects, then what? Are we gonna call up Caissie as a big power bat or Alcantara to be a 4th OF or Triantos to handle infield duties or just let them all continue to marinate in AAA for time TBD? At some point you hold onto a prospect too long. Case in point, Curtis Mead was a decent prospect and the Rays gave him to the White Sox for Houser.
  2. Twins trading Louis Varland and Ty France to Blue Jays. Griffin Jax to Tampa. They will have fans coming out of the bullpen to pitch.
  3. Does the Red Sox getting May mean they're out on Ryan and.........................👀
  4. Red Sox getting Dustin May Padres getting Nestor Cortes. Mad dash to the finish line.
  5. Red Sox making a late push for Joe Ryan apparently.
  6. He was an All Star last year. Not a bad hitter, some pop. But a big thing is he can play everywhere and is a nice safety net at third if Shaw slumps again.
  7. Oh thank god. Honestly Castro is such a good fit on the club right now it would have been stupid to not acquire him. Still hoping for another SP in the final 30.
  8. The Padres are giving up their 2nd, 3rd and 4th round picks from last year in the O'Hearn/Laureano trade lol. The flip side to Hoyer is definitely Preller.
  9. The Padres made another deal, getting Will Wagner from the Blue Jays. And fwiw to all the people freaking out about lack of reports, this trade was broken by the Padres tweeting it. No one else had it.
  10. Is this the year we finally get Brian Roberts and Jake Peavy?
  11. Yankees add Jake Bird, who I had my eye on. They give up Ben Shields, a 26 year old lefty, and Roc Riggio, a second baseman hitting well in AA and a member of the great names HOF.
  12. Rafael Flores is a decent catching prospect but no way can he be the headliner for Bednar, especially with the going rate at this deadline. Also interesting to note as he's in AAA and Pirates have Henry Davis, Endy Rodriguez and Joey Bart.
  13. I keep waiting for that Passan bomb about a Cubs trade.
  14. Locklear is raking and is better than those rankings indicate. He could be Arizona's first baseman now. What would our version of this trade look like? Alcantara, Neely and Sanders or Birdsell?
  15. I dig it. Pitching staff better than it was a couple hours ago.
  16. I assume Ford is part of the return.
  17. Yes it is. And power is basically all he has.
  18. I like it, as long as he's not the only starter acquired. The mph drop is concerning but his peripherals have been good all year and he was pretty great out of the pen last year. I immediately thought of Franklin as the return before it was reported. Idk why, seemed like an obvious candidate. But adding Cruz too hurts a little. He's far off but looks pretty interesting. The market is bonkers. We're gonna be giving up a lot for a better starter.
  19. Yeah and Butto is a decent middle reliever under control for 5 more years. Am I missing something? This really is a sellers' market.
  20. That is a haul for a non-closer reliever who is a pure rental. Gilbert and Tidwell both performing in AAA and are top-10 ish prospects in Mets system.
