  1. Not bad as rotation depth and he's had past success.
  2. I don't have a problem with it, depending on the terms of the deal. Hes a decent hitter and it wasn't his only good season. He adds depth and versatility. He's a better Jeff Baker.
  3. Josh Johnson apparently found out about the trade by seeing it on MLB Trade Rumors. That's gotta be fun for a player.
  4. Bogusevic is a former first rounder who was converted from the mound. Hit well last year but sucked this year and is 29. Chavez is just 23 and has decent power. The other two are minor league roster fodder.
  5. Man, it woulda been great to trade him when he carried value over the summer instead of sending him to Japan.
  6. Well that's.....interesting. I absolutely love this.
  7. I know he was hot garbage last year, but think there's a chance we would try to take Ubaldo's contract off their hands and give up less in the process in a possible deal?
  8. Kevin Orie is probably still alive and kicking somewhere.
  9. It's fine. He's nothing special but he's a serviceable reliever and it's a cheap one year deal.
  10. Dayton Moore said he'd listen on his young bats in order to upgrade the rotation. That includes Moustakas, Hosmer, Gordon and Wil Myers. If only Garza were healthy enough, I would love to somehow get Myers.
  11. Jays were probably only team willing to go two years. Good deal for them if his success the past couple years was actual growth and not substance-related.
  12. Sad thing is I know the writer who gave him a vote and have met him a few times. He's a really good writer/a pretty smart guy, so I'm shocked by that.
  13. Pretty meh. Navarro is a pretty decent fielder and could be helpful teaching Castillo, who could use some more work. That money seems a bit high, but as others have said, it's not enough to really complain about. It's one year and he's an upgrade over Clevenger. I'm having a hard time believing he is still just 28.
  14. Posey is the NL MVP. Won it pretty decidedly too. Also Soriano got a few votes http://bbwaa.com/12-nl-mvp/
  15. RA Dickey is the NL Cy Young winner. Great story. He was starting to tear up in the broadcast after they announced he won. You could tell how much it meant to him.
  16. Don't know how minor this is, but Hunter signing with the Tigers
  17. I mean, they kinda knew that a year ago when Sampson made those statements saying they don't give a flip about the fans and just wanna make money.
  18. Don't people think we should be trade partners with the Orioles every offseason? Memories of the legendary Brian Roberts thread.
  19. Jeeez. That poor, poor Marlins fan. Seriously, though. Gotta wait to see the full details but I would think Johnson and Buehrle are worth more than that.
  20. Interesting low-risk move. If he's fully healthy, it could be a great bargain. From 2007-2011 his fWAR was no lower than a 2.6.
  21. Wade Miley showed up the telecom right after he killed a family of deer, by the looks of his attire.
  22. Not sure where this should go but Do the Braves not like offense? Simmons is good but I'd definitely take Olt over him.
