    my guess would be that walker moves to first and theriot gets called up to fill in whereever needed. and thank goodness for that. your team's not complete unless you have 18 middle infielders.

    Why are you assuming the Cubs wont make a deal? for one, because the cubs love neifi. also, they're not going to give up the farm for two months of someone like sweeney, who will then sit on the bench making millions of dollars. if someone like clark or c. wilson was available for fairly cheap, then maybe they'd do it. this is why you get at least one power bat for your bench, and not a bunch of utility guys like macias, bynum, neifi, and hairston that can \:D/ play a lot of positions \:D/ people said that having a weak bench wasn't that big of a deal, but it is now.

    why is everyone assuming the cubs are going to make a deal? it's going to be neifi and 2b and walker at 1b (and a really, really bad offense).

    it seems like it would be better for a rh hitter to injure his right wrist than his left...but i could be wrong. if he goes on the DL, i'd guess that restovich would get called up. hoffpauir could be considered as well, since they may want to have a capable defensive backup for walker/mabry, but i don't think he's on the roster. come to think of it, i don't know if restovich is...

    Yep; that makes me a happy camper. :D At least when you go down this week you can take some comfort knowing that it's due to an ageless wonder helping the Cubs win. it's talk like this that inspires my team to jack three homers and a couple of doubles w/in a half an hour span to make your 20+ point lead a distant memory. lesson learned. There may be something to this. Today I keep my mouth shut, and I take back the lead. i'm just glad dusty thought the sixth inning of a tie game vs the heart of the dodger order was a good time for aardsma to make his cub debut, preventing marshall from getting a QS. by the way, just in case anyone was wondering, i mistakenly thought wang was on waivers, so i made what i thought was a claim on him. turns out he wasn't on waivers, so he went right into my lineup, taking loe's spot. juan said to just leave it since i'm not gaining any starts, and NCC has agreed to that. the only excuse i can give for my stupidity is the distraction of watching 14 cubs carted off the field w/ injuries.

    he threw home? Hard to follow the game through all the hand-wringing. yep. and it costs 'em. thanks, reppy. and it was a stupid and a bad throw. he should have been more worried about keeping jones at 2nd then trying to get neifi, who he didn't have a real shot at.

    any more guys who could make their cub debut in this inning? or should dusty wait until there's a more pressure packed situation? maybe the bases loaded and a 3-0 count on the batter? meanwhile two very good relievers warm up in the pen.

    pujols better not see anything to hit today. rolen is out of the lineup and some old guy in jim edmonds' uniform is hitting behind him. their lineup is not that good.

    I'm personally pretty happy that Hendry didn't overpay for Furcal and stayed with Cedeno. agreed. we have enough overrated leadoff men (1) on this team.

    i've made a huge mistake (maybe more than one). hanley ramirez is going off...and i considered throwing him out there at U this week. tejada may have to go on the block. and oliver perez is off to a better start. though he just walked the pitcher w/ two outs and then allowed a double. boy, does that st louis lineup blow outside of rolen and pujols. i can't see why anyone would pitch to pujols right now.
