  1. Nick Adenhart, Humberto Sanchez, Matt Albers, Jacob McGee, Ubaldo Jimenez, Mark Rogers... i'll give you sanchez, and mcgee's been about the same, but hill's been better than adenhart, albers, jimenez and (by a loooong ways) rogers. Rogers is leading the minors in K/9 last I checked. he's k-ing guys at a ridiculous rate (84 in 59 ip), but he's also walked 37 in those innings. and he's got a 4.73 era. batters are hitting .246 against rogers and under .200 against hill.
  2. hill's last five starts... 33 ip, 21 h, 4 bb, 5 er, 46 k's. that's a .76 whip and 12.5 k/9. trade him or bring him up, please.
  3. My bad on that. I was looking at MiLB Gameday as I typed that and that's what it said. Even better outings for Hill and Wuertz then if those are the correct numbers. milb's game log was all screwed up until just a minute ago. the box score was right, but the log was wrong. now they're both right.
  4. 5. has hill been the best pitcher in all of AAA this season? all of minor league baseball? by the way, hill had 10 k's, not 6 (according to milb.com). 7 ip, 4 h, 0 bb, 10 k's wuertz had 5 k's in two innings also.
  6. hill's pitching and it's theriot magnet night, but i can't go.... hoping for a good return for petrick...
  7. yet... I grew up in Skokie, thank you very much. I went to the city a lot when I was little. I still go, but not as often. And if I go in the city now, I just hop on the L. I'm 30 minutes by foot from a station. sorry, but it's a LOT different, as you've pointed out a handful of times, in chicago.
  8. who cares? the fact is, he put up a 3.11 era and a k per inning out of kc's pen last year at the age of 22 and the cubs got NOTHING for him. i don't know how you can defend that.
  9. it was a bunt homerun, right?
  10. dusty's right...too many kids in the rotation.
  11. anybody still want maddux back in '07 for nostalgia's sake?
  12. how'd gathright get by hendry?
  13. again, and sorry to be harsh about this, no one cares about you.
  14. Dusty Baker Wrote: yeah, because it's been the young guys that have killed the team. veterans like rusch, ramirez, pierre, and neifi have been holding this team together.
  15. yeah, because it's just unrealistic to ask a guy to put together a non-last place team w/ a mere 95 mil.
  16. huh...letting a young pitcher pitch through his struggles. interesting philosophy.
  17. vance hates them. why should your feelings get preference over his?
  18. i'm just gonna say that i can completely see why you have a clip of a face-punching as your avatar. you seem to have a lot of pent up aggression and hatred.
  19. HEY!! I CARE MORE ABOUT THE CUBS THAN ANYTHING!! IT IS A LOT DIFFERENT IN CHICAGO, WHERE YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH BOTH THE CARDINALS AND WHITE SOX!! OUTSIDE OF CHICAGO, YOU ONLY HAVE TO DEAL W/ THE CARDINALS!! again, i don't care one iota about you getting picked on...and neither should management. it's not my problem you have thin skin and a short temper.
  20. sorry, but i care more about the cubs than i do about you getting picked on.
  21. c'mon, manuel, take myers out...geez! if that blown call at 2nd costs him a W and a QS...
  22. i was a little concerned going into sunday, but i had three QS, and you had two non-QS. and my pen was fantastic all week.
  23. the funny thing is, the braves seem to acknowledge the fact that they are out of it (unlike a certain other team). you'd think that if any team would be foolishly clinging to a faint hope of the postseason, it'd be the braves, who would be fighting to continue an amazing run of success...and not the cubs, who haven't tasted anything resembling success since 2003. during the game last night, smoltz was talking about being traded, and what teams he would consider going to...all but admitting that the braves' season is over. they were also recalling conversations w/ other players and coaches about how the streak is going to end.
