  1. novoa's terrible.
  2. what don't those stats show? it's not a matter of not showing everything, it's a matter the importance of what they're showing.
  3. if you don't get it this week, you'll get it next week against me. this is the second straight 320+ week i've given up...my defense is terrible lately.
  4. So you don't want to fleece, say, the Diamondbacks in a trade? Just the Sox and the Cards? You come off as a Sox-hater first, Cubs fan second. NO!! I like the Cubs more than anything. I only sound like a Cubs fan w/ a White Sox attitude b/c so many fans force me to go into pissing matches. I used to never care about them, I started hating them once I moved to New Trier and once I joined forums and dealt with moronic fans in person and online. "forced"...like at gunpoint? No. I have a very short fuse, and fans inciting me, talking smack about the Garland-Karchner deal, talking about the Cubs losing all the time, relying too much on power, Wood is overrated, etc. All that crap. well, by all means, the cubs should make personnel decisions with your inability to control your temper in mind.
  5. ouch for tim. one out from a QS from milton then he walks a cub (!) followed by a neifi hr.

  7. they also had to finish a suspended game.
  8. i don't think high pitch counts really matter that much. how are wood and prior doing these days, by the way?
  9. pretty much what everyone's come to expect from hill. 6 ip, 4 h, 1 er, 2 bb, 9 k's. era down to 2.31, and his control continues to be great at AAA. too bad for him that rusch is pitching so well right now.
  10. how the hell do you go six innings, walk six, give up five hits and not allow ANY runs?? my offense tried to get me back in it today, but it's probably too little too late. of course i dumped hensley when i got schilling, and he's given up one run thru 7 2/3.
  11. but 24 playoff starting innings do? b/c that's how many he had when the cards got him.
  12. i just really don't like how people completely dismiss the concept of sample size.
  13. my three RP's this week: 32.85 points my five SP's this week: 16.6 (18.25 of which came from newly acquired schilling) i also have 16.25 points from putz and 12 from ray on my bench. in other words, my four relievers have more than tripled the points scored by my five starters.
  14. this thread is rude, dumb, and obnoxious.
  15. decided you couldn't win the 'told you so' game w/ pierre, so you've moved on the jones, eh?
  16. clutch! so that's why the cubs drafted him!
  17. not only do you not have a "couple" leadoff guys b/w womack and pierre...you don't have one.
  18. so guzman is up. please trade hill to the pirates for jose hernandez and end my misery.
  19. i gotta say, when i see that the rangers have scored 12 runs on 17 hits, i expect a little more out of blalock and teixeira than 1-9 w/ 2 rbis.
  20. first of all, rusch has NO upside. none. secondly, you're kidding yourself if you think the cubs can get a "decent" prospect for a guy that would be w/o a team if not for the cubs. he's old and he has a 7.29 era. the cubs aren't getting crap for him.
  21. add up the number of chances given to guzman, hill, and ryu. take that number times rusch's era. take that number times rusch's weight...that's how many chances he gets.
  22. if by "alot" you mean 4 more starts and 25 more innings.
  23. you can rip on a guy the moment he throws the first pitch of his career. you just look foolish for doing it. knock yourself out.
  24. they need to just stick w/ someone at this point. i'd prefer to see gooz get more time in AAA b/c he hasn't stayed healthy much lately. hill, on the other hand, needs to get an extended shot w/ some team, whether it's the cubs or not. he's got nothing left to prove at AAA (unless they have him down there to work on a specific pitch). last two starts...14 ip, 8 h, 2 er, 21 k's, 1 bb. time to see what he's made of. and no, i don't think his handful of sporadic starts have shown what he's made of, so save it.
  25. i've accepted the fact that the cubs are going to completely ignore OBP, so if they get a team full of moderately low OBP/really high SLG guys (ie lee, soriano), i'll be as content as i can be. better than the really low OBP/really low SLG guys they have now. i don't know if the cubs can score enough runs w/ an outfield of jones, pie, and murton in '07. they may as well trade murton, hill, whatever to get a big bat for a corner OF slugger if they're not going to sign lee.
