  1. I didn't call you any names. I think it's obvious that I didn't score points because Kennedy didn't show up in my line-up. I did make the move, Kennedy was in my line-up and I didn't score his points. So rather then causing a mess, I dropped Kennedy picked up Garmano and took his start. I ended up w/ 9 pts rather then the 27 pts I should have received. Meh, I swear I switched out Dan Johnson for Conor Jackson before the week started. But I must not have saved the change because it didn't register. So I lived with the consequences. I'd love to have those additional 13 points right now. you're not the only one to make some poor managerial decisions...i have a boatload of pitching points on my bench right now. stupid martinez. i just need one good start and one decent start and maybe i'll be all right.

  3. wasn't trying to be a dick...just showing you why kennedy wasn't in your lineup.
  4. he should still be striking out high a hitters by sheer accident.
  5. so because rios worked out, samardzija will too? ok. No, it means just b/c someone doesn't succeed immediately, don't write them off. You are a Hill fan, are you not? You should know something about not judging a prospect prematurely. i'm not writing samardzija off (though i'm certainly not pumped about him)...i just think it's stupid to point to one draft pick wilken made a handful of years ago as proof that he knows what he's doing. oh, and since you brought hill into it...compare hill's k rate to samardzija's if you want a good laugh.
  6. if kroeger or colvin are in the cubs outfield in 2008, the cubs are in big trouble.

  8. looks like i have another extra closer to trade. can't believe you guys were asleep at the wheel on capps!
  9. Get ready to be shocked. what's it like in this imaginary world you live in where you're the only one who thinks the cubs suck and everyone loooooves hendry?
  10. eh, thanks to some late points from teix, i'm down 18 and i already have two starts to tim's none. if i picked up some scrub off waivers, he'd probably get negative points. i'm just going to take my chances with sheets and gaudin.
  11. I'm not sure what the rule was on that? I picked Germano up because I had put Kennedy in the line-up and didn't get his 28 pts from his start. it looks like you didn't get kennedy's points b/c he wasn't in your lineup when he pitched on 6/1.
  12. so because rios worked out, samardzija will too? ok.
  13. well, they aren't. era is a measure of a guy's pitching ability, not his fielding ability. i don't really understand why everyone gripes about this rule. the reasoning behind it is pretty obvious. you don't subtract points from a fielder's batting average because he makes an error. hill's hot start had me thinking he had a shot at the ASG...but his w/l record is likely to keep him out of it. a couple of his patented 13-14 strikeout games would help his cause. Well, I'm probably in the minority but I feel that when the pitcher commits the error, he "earns" the run. Either way, it's just my opinion. As for the bolded part... patented? He's never done that before in the majors. I'd let him do it at least a few times (heck, even once) before we start calling it patented. geez...how about 10 strikeouts? he's done that a few times...will that work for you?
  14. well, [expletive]...smoltz isn't making his start tomorrow. and i left three starters, all of whom scored 18+ points sit on the bench hoping smoltz would be ready. so can i pick someone up off waivers?

  16. i need a rules clarification. HBC picked up germano from free agency today and he's in the lineup for tonight's start. i understand that we can shuffle SP's from the bench into the rotation and vice versa to get the seven starts, but i thought it was determined that we could not pick up free agents during the week to reach seven starts.
  17. yea, I turned it off and assumed crooked number as soon as he turned to throw to 2nd. I swear pitchers throwing to second must make errors at least 50 percent of the time. good point. even if the throw would be the runner (which it rarely would), the guy throws it poorly all the time. making up a little ground on tim today, but it didn't help that drew, glaus and martin all sat. drew may be benched for tomorrow depending on the severity of his injury.
  18. Loogys do not exist. will you please quit saying this? everyone gets it -- you don't think teams should rely on loogy's b/c of roster space and strategy. but you can't deny that there are lhp out there that excel at getting lefties out and get righties out. thus, loogy's exist. you saying loogy's don't exist is like me saying sacrifice bunts in the first inning don't exist b/c i don't like them strategically.
  19. i wanted to leave hill in too. i was concerned about the 7th, when it looked like he may be gassed from "running" the bases...but he looked fine. hill goes seven freaking innings and walks one guy...ohman walks the very first guy he faces...ridiculous.
  20. man, you need to get your eyes checked. another fantastic effort from these losers.
  21. seriously, hill works his ass off for seven innings and walks ONE guy. ohman comes in and walks the FIRST guy he faces. pathetic.
  22. nice work, ohman. should have left hill in.
  23. and how many people think it wasn't close? give it up.
