  1. his save % gets even worse if you believe that 16/20 equals 50%. think about that for a minute.
  2. ugh, i hate this line of reasoning. it's innings that matter, not days.
  3. and your point is....?
  4. and wood has one save in a game with more than a 3 run lead. one. totally discredits his whole season, imo.
  5. worst reach ever.
  6. i guess the "you've got to earn your spot" mantra that applies to hill, pie, etc doesn't apply to marquis. error, balk, walk(s) all in the 3rd inning...isn't that some kind of triple crown?
  7. What's new? You have an entire thread dedicated to your jaw. with a totally made up story to go with it.
  8. due to jr towles' tremendous flop, trading martin and ubaldo for sanchez and blanton may end up being a bad one. though if sanchez continues to pitch well at least i got an exempt SP out of it.
  9. i don't remember that at all. you offered me santana for russell martin, and we were talking about a trade involving harang and a closer, but i really don't remember getting an offer of santana for a closer.
  10. the twins need to stop wasting liriano's innings in AAA.
  11. he'll come back to earth once other teams realize they should just put their lf and 3b in between first and second base.
  12. ok, that's not true at all. i was worried going into the season that lee was going to continue his power decline, but at least maintain his OBP. looks like it's going the other way around so far this year.
  13. don't call it that.
  14. from the register (and posted in the minor league forum):
  15. He was on the DL for two weeks, which makes it hard to work on mechanics. It also sounded like he should've gotten through the third inning without giving up a run. The walks came early and he settled down a bit before the questionable IF single in the third opened things up. I'll be happy if he's ready to go by July 1st, although end of June certainly isn't out of the question. He's obviously not being rushed and still has some work to do, including building up some stamina. The same goes with Marshall. I gotcha. I thought he was struggling a bit before he hit the DL too though, but I suppose that could also be attributed to the injury or just the shock of finding himself back in Iowa. he was walking more than he should, but he wasn't giving up a bunch of runs or hits.
  16. yeah, he should have gotten out of the third unscored upon. blanco muffed a grounder in the hole to his right. next guy singled, next guy homered the other way right inside the pole. he looked like he was throwing hard, but it looked like he was having trouble locating his fb. he had great control with his offspeed stuff. he looked really flustered when he came out. he also put in a humorous ab during which he tried to drag bunt three times. at this point he was done pitching, but they didn't want to burn a ph, so they let him bat.
  17. that's not the case. if they're still under the limits, you can send them down.
  18. well, i wasted my time going to the i-cubs game last night. due to the long line at the ticket counter, i didn't get in until the third inning, so i didn't get to see much hill. he should have been out of the third 1-2-3, but blanco misplayed the first of what ended up being three hits. the next hit was solid and the hr was barely fair down the rf line. i couldn't believe it got out. the radar gun is completely unreliable, so i can't tell you how hard he was throwing. i was listening to the game on the radio on the way in, and the announcer said that hill has added a split finger. seems like a strange thing to do when you're down there because you can't throw your fb for strikes. he looked really pissed off and just overall unhappy. he batted in the bottom of the 3rd, though he didn't come out for the 4th, and he half-ass tried to drag bunt three times before striking out. it was kind of amusing.
  19. He's been just fine. he's been more than fine.
  20. wow wow wow do i wish marmol was a starter.
  21. yeah, martinez is right up there. delmon young's been disappointing, but he wasn't coming off a 50 hr season like fielder. verlander's been pretty awful too.
  22. Soto will have a 3 day rest considering the Cubs have a day off after the all star break. The 4th day, he'll squat for 4 innings and get 2 ABs. I don't see what the big deal is. What he said. I'd hate for Soto to lose out on something that I'm sure would be an absolute thrill for him because his own fanbase was voting against him. seriously. that's stupid. he'll catch three innings max...i don't think that's going to push him over the edge.
  23. the devry shuttle is roughly 8 billion times more convenient than parking. used it for game 3 last fall, and while it was crowded, it sure beat parking.
