Thanks, Jim Yes because the bench was so much better in this situation last year? If this happen last year we would have had DeRosa at 3rd, Fontenot at 2b, Reed in CF and Fukudome in RF. With say Edmonds and Ramirez out of the line-up. With the bench being Cedeno and Ward. Today Miles at 2b, Fontenot at 3rd, Johnson in CF and Fukudome in RF. With the bench being Gathright and Hoffpauir. The difference is a back up infielder instead of a back up outfielder. Sure Miles in the everyday line-up over Fontenot is weaker, but Hoffpauir on the bench over Ward or Cedeno is actually stronger. So if there is a difference today it's that we have a back up poor hitting outfielder then poor hitting back up infielder. i agree. because the bench was so bad last year i'm willing to give hendry a pass on building such a bad bench this year. in fact, i'll go so far as to say good job, hendry. ?
