  1. The pitching and lack of clutch hitting scares me. There isn't any such thing as clutch hitting. You either have hitting, or you don't. I disagree. Some guys can handle the situation and others can't. Look at Soriano's numbers with men on compared to nobody on. I'm not saying it proves my argument, but I think it shows evidence toward my argument. soriano's OPS from 2006-2008 with runners on: .884 soriano's OPS from 2006-2008 with no one on: .902 CONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE. CASE CLOSED.
  2. [expletive] you ryan ludwick, you ugly, lucky [expletive]. and [expletive] you too, zambrano.
  3. Take out Marmol and what is the ERA? 7.00? marmol's not on the team anymore?????
  4. weird...a reliever that comes in and throws strikes.
  5. lou really can't wrap his head around how to use marmol. doesn't use him today when he was needed, but now he's warming him up in with the cubs down three. he'll probably throw 23 pitches today or something and then be unavailable tomorrow and cottspatton will have to go out there again.
  6. blame the umps if you want, but lou blew this by bringing in patton. horrible decision.
  7. i have him in another points based league that scores similar to ours...except we get 25 points for a cycle. so he had a nice 49 point day for me.
  8. oh no, mike lowell's rotting corpse takes anderson deep! i have four of the red sox position players on various fantasy teams...mike lowell is not one of them. so that's fun.
  9. feeling GREAT about brett anderson vs. the red sox today.
  10. you only have five left...you've used greinke and ubaldo.
  11. also, the notion of "core" training is kind of silly.
  12. my original point was in response to this... if you're arguing that he shouldn't swing at garbage like he does sometimes, i guess i agree with you. i don't really know why you're arguing with me...
  13. if it were that simple (and if soriano only hit mistake pitches) soriano wouldn't be a borderline HOFer.
  14. people make this argument all the time, and it's obvious that either a) it's not as easy as you think to throw certain pitches in certain spots all the time or b) he truly doesn't flail at every slider away. otherwise he'd be ryan harvey and not a borderline HOFer. Or C, professional baseball pitchers are cocky sons of bitches that think they can get anybody with their heat and don't need to [expletive] foot around with nothing but breaking balls. well, that's not true. baseball players probably aren't the brightest bunch, but they're smart enough to know that if all they have to do to get out soriano is throw him crap, they'd throw crap.
  15. people make this argument all the time, and it's obvious that either a) it's not as easy as you think to throw certain pitches in certain spots all the time or b) he truly doesn't flail at every slider away. otherwise he'd be ryan harvey and not a borderline HOFer.
  16. good thing he was batting leadoff on saturday, eh?
  17. worst [expletive] eight point start ever. jeez, don't even take a bat up there for crying out loud.
  18. yeah, i'm pulling for a rainout now. jeez.
  19. Thanks, Jim Yes because the bench was so much better in this situation last year? If this happen last year we would have had DeRosa at 3rd, Fontenot at 2b, Reed in CF and Fukudome in RF. With say Edmonds and Ramirez out of the line-up. With the bench being Cedeno and Ward. Today Miles at 2b, Fontenot at 3rd, Johnson in CF and Fukudome in RF. With the bench being Gathright and Hoffpauir. The difference is a back up infielder instead of a back up outfielder. Sure Miles in the everyday line-up over Fontenot is weaker, but Hoffpauir on the bench over Ward or Cedeno is actually stronger. So if there is a difference today it's that we have a back up poor hitting outfielder then poor hitting back up infielder. i agree. because the bench was so bad last year i'm willing to give hendry a pass on building such a bad bench this year. in fact, i'll go so far as to say good job, hendry. ?
  20. when i kill myself will you guys spread my ashes on the wrigley field infield?
  21. yeah, my matchups suck. it'd be nice if jimmy rollins would quit being shitty at baseball.
