i vote you can put him in the minors. normally that would be the case, and i don't know if i really like it. i think the minor league draft was put in place a) to make sure june draftees weren't just plucked off the waiver wire mid season and b) to prevent people from drafting a ton of prospects in the major league draft (namely, tim).

draft darvish or cespedes in the major league draft. you get to keep them no matter what. this makes the most sense. they're clearly not "prospects."

they paid like 100 mil for darvish. he's not a "prospect." marlon byrd is going to be a first round pick at the rate we're watering down this draft.

darvish should clearly be eligible to be picked in the major league draft. come on.

good lord, where was this guy when ksu was getting their ass kicked by [expletive] oklahoma (x2)? obnoxious. anyway, both ksu and mizzou play despicable, embarrassing brands of defense. pressey basically tackled ksu's point guard once he got to half court on every possession. ksu is no better. they have nobody with any offensive skill (outside of magruder occasionally) other than just tackling defenders to grab their own shooters' bricks and put them back in. i have to say my favorite part about both of those teams is how when on the rare occasion they are called for a foul, they just act completely and totally shocked. i thought that fat blob steve moore was going to literally cry tears when he fouled out. instead of whining for the one time he got called for a hand check, pressey should be grateful for the 92 he got away with.

baylor trying to piss this away. texas hits the most wide open 3 in the history of college basketball down 4 with 1 min to go.

obviously if you make a trade mid-week, you can make mid-week changes to your hitters/relievers.

i vote you can't make mid-week changes for hitters or relief pitchers unless they are hurt, sent down the minors, murdered or retire.

yeah, it means the conference probably isn't that strong.

and even if they don't catch isu in the standings, k-state will certainly be ahead of isu in the committee's mind with wins vs. mizzou and @ baylor.

But now we're tied for 3rd in the conference, we can beat KSU next Saturday. who cares about being tied for 3rd in the conf. if they finish with enough wins to get anywhere remotely close to 3rd in the conf, they're in regardless. i'm more concerned about pulling away from ksu and texas than i am getting closer to baylor. We're up by two games on both teams. Texas has to play both Baylor and KU still and KSU plays Mizzou on Wednesday. We could be up by three games on both teams after they beat TT next week. Not really concerned with either team being able to catch us. we're competing with texas and ksu for a tournament berth. we should want them to lose as much as possible. isu is not catching baylor.

jerry palm (cbs) has a terrible bracket. nine big 10 teams in (the 5 good ones + purdue, illinois, nw and minnesota). just four big 12 teams in with k-state (64 rpi) in as a 10 seed, iowa state (39 rpi) and texas (40 rpi) out.

lol, 10 seed after all this. (Though we were clearly bumped a spot) We're pretty much a lock at 8-10. illinois couldn't get themselves out of the tournament if they tried.
