mainly for the new guys. players are exempt for their first 3 seasons. meaning exemption #1 is used after their first qualifying season, exemption #2 after their second such season, exemption #3 after their third. to burn an exemption, a batter must make 50 or more plate appearances. a pitcher must start 5 or more games or make 10 or more total appearances. for example, madison bumgarner... appeared in 4 games (1 start in 2009). he did not use his first exemption after 2009. made 18 starts in 2010, so his first exemption was used after that season. he made 33 starts in 2011, so second exemption used after that season. he made 32 starts in 2012, so he used his third and finalexemption this year. in other words, his points do not count against your cap going into 2013.

seemed like there were quite a few things that i wanted to change... one was definitely the perfect game and no hitter points. those will be reduced. also, if you go over your seven starts, you automatically lose the highest start. no [expletive] around with how many infractions you've had, who started the latest game, etc. draft order will be determined by the end of the year standings, not whatever random date it used to be.

no, you're missing the point. i can point out that a fan of any team is being stupid, regardless of what team i root for. Just like George Bush can point out another president did a crappy job too. He would sound like a dumbass too saying it. you don't get it as evidenced by that nonsense analogy. I'll explain it to you for the third and final time. me saying an IU fan is being stupid has nothing to do with me being an iowa state fan. your "right" to call some dumb fan out on their idiocy is not tied to who you root for. I keep trying to think of a new way to explain it to you and I can't. sorry.

But u got on an IU fan for talking about relevance when u have no business talking about relevance if not being good 2 years ago is the criterium. so if i was a kentucky fan i could make fun of him for bragging about relevant his favorite team was? that makes no sense. whether i'm a fan of iowa state or western michigan or duke, i am going to be equally amused by the fan of a team who was the toilet of college basketball for three (very recent) seasons talking down to another team's fan about relevance.

i think the possibility that te'o really did get duped is even more enjoyable for me since ND fans have this obnoxious sense of pride about what an esteemed academic institution ND is.

this isn't anything new, is it? but yeah, if he truly didn't know until 12/6 (which i don't think many people believe), i'm not surprised he didn't go public at that time. that's pretty far down on the list of stupid/weird things that he did.

maybe this is a possibility...say te'o tweeted back and forth from time to time with this person thinking she was real. never talked to her on the phone, never asked to skype, never tried to visit her, etc. then after she "died" he exaggerated the extent of their "relationship" for publicity not realizing it was going to blow up in his face because the person never existed. that could explain how he was "fooled" so easily.

for some reason, i had it in my head that this girl was in hawaii the whole time following the accident, while getting leukemia treatment, etc. then i realized she was allegedly in california. i also didn't realize the accident apparently occurred 8 months before she died of cancer. so the love of his life almost dies in a car accident and begins undergoing treatment for leukemia over the span of 8-9 months and te'o doesn't go see her. and apparently the car accident occurs 8 months before she "died of cancer," which means it was in january, which means te'o had nothing but time on his hands after the 2011 football season was over. and he doesn't go visit her. sociopath seems more likely than gullible to me at this point. or [expletive] boyfriend ever. She told him she was in a car accident about 3 months after they started corresponding (email, twitter, phone, whatever). that's not my understanding of the timeline. so in june 2012, she's still recovering from her car accident injuries. she clearly was "dating" te'o by this point, correct?
