  1. hey, whaddya know, the team that is going to win didn't do it with a sacrifice bunt.
  2. i don't think soriano has the physical capability to drive the baseball. all his hits are soft liners off the end of the bat and 600 bounce grounders that find holes.
  3. so four failed sacrifices this game? garza, campana, stewart and dejesus.
  4. if hart hits a ground ball by the inexplicably drawn in ian stewart i'm going to murder someone.
  5. this is the dumbest baseball game ever.
  6. cubs better score like 7 this inning because braun, aramis and hart are all hitting homers in the bottom half.
  7. the race to see who can give up the most outs with bunts continues!
  8. do you ever win a game where you fail miserably multiple times attempting to sac bunt and walk 10 hitters?
  9. this rule (if it even is a rule) needs to be changed. guerra loses the closer job at 5 pm on monday (after the start of games) so i'm stuck with a mediocre middle reliever all week? i don't see what making someone stick with a non-closing RP all week is accomplishing.
  10. and i think taking away 2 days of his points is pretty harsh (though we kind of established that as the rule). on the other hand, taking away scott rolen's 1.5 points or whatever and allowing him to pick and choose which crappy players to drop to make his roster legal is a pretty cream puff "penalty."
  11. since i'm not in tim's division i don't really care how the issue of his points was handled (though i don't see how allowing him to keep robertson is any way remotely fair), but in addition to bitching at the bitchers can we also acknowledge that there has been a ton more sloppy managing this season? i mean, like 4 teams had illegal rosters on day one. and i just happened to notice tim's roster...who knows how long that would have gone on had i not noticed it...and who knows what everyone else's roster looks like week to week. if you want people to stop being super sticklers for the rules, how about we also tell people to clean their business up a little bit too. because the bitchers wouldn't have anything to bitch about if there wasn't so much sloppiness.
  12. yeah, obv this system doesn't work. have to be able to pick up FAs to replace injured players.
  13. i don't care what happens to his points for those days, but i don't think the proper solution is dropping 3 shitty players and getting to keep robertson.
  14. for sure.
  15. geez, can some setting be turned on so you can't just have a [expletive] illegal roster? i've played in yahoo and espn leagues and it's literally impossible to be like, oops i accidentally have too many guys.
  16. if i'm reading the transactions right, he had too many guys on his roster before he added robertson/dropped rasmus?
  17. how many bench spots do we have now? i made a mad dash to pick up robertson only to see i was beaten to the punch by tim, who i noticed seems to have a 4 man bench.
  18. so can we take out/replace relievers mid-week?
  19. well, aren't i a dumbass. completely forgot about that. almost worked out for me anyway since jj sucked and capuano was awesome.
  20. we're all very proud of you.
  21. You shouldn't have been that close in the 1st place. Who starts Chris Capuano over Josh Johnson? I only started 6 pitchers too. Of course, my 7th only got 1/2 point. there was a 100% chance of rain in miami and the radar looked like someone barfed all over south florida. i couldn't take the chance of a rainout so i went with capuano. hamilton getting pulled after 1 ab in the night game didn't help either...
  22. hamels is a hell of a lot closer to a #1 than samardzija is to a #3, that's for damn sure.
  23. i like the idea that the cubs will be playoff-ready in 2014, but not WORLD SERIES WINNING ready until 3 years after that. you really need three practice runs in the playoffs before you can even THINK about winning the world series.
  24. this is why you shouldn't watch the games on sunday if your matchup is close. i lost by 4.25. in the stl/mil game, greinke is pitching, jaime garcia is on 3rd with one out. medium deep fly ball to cf, should easily score garcia. but hampered by either a head injury or a basic misunderstanding of the rules of baseball, garcia gets all confused wandering around off third like a lost puppy. doesn't score. if his parents weren't brother and sister, he scores, -4.5 to greinke, i win by 0.25. so, in conclusion, [expletive] jaime garcia. also, zobrist and cruz both miss homers by like a foot in the night game, so don't watch the night game either if your matchup is close.
