  1. I'M SEEIN' A WHOLE [expletive] LOAD OF POINTS FROM EDINSON VOLQUEZ HOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLA.
  2. the guy who has no spot to play because of erick aybar and howie kendrick is going to replace castro.
  3. How stupid is a 3 day week.
  4. Same goes for me and capuano. Wish I would have known he was gonna get a start...
  5. Wish I got to face the team that uses 2 starts per week in a week where the limit is 7 instead of 3.
  6. is this really going to be a 3 day week? awful.
  7. And pitchers careers are reborn. If I'm a once good pitcher or pitching prospect *Chris Volstad* who's hit the skids, I'm begging the Padres to give me a 1 year deal or for my team to trade me to them in hopes of some sucker giving me a 3 year deal the following. is the GM that gives chris volstad a 3 yr deal the same guy that calls to trade for castro and ends up taking reed johnson?
  8. I'm going to ignore the mockery and just say that a big reason why they don't see Soriano as likely to be traded is due to the contract. GET RIGHT OUT OF TOWN
  9. OMG i swear if you post one more time about trying to entice teams with reed johnson garbage or whatever i'm going to burn down the internet.
  10. Sounds about right. Granted, we have the leverage that there's no urgency to trade him, but that sounds like a realistic return. If someone with a deep farm system and desperation for a starter wants to give us more, then more power to em. so you're on record as saying you will take more than what you consider to be a good return? very interesting.
  11. especially when none of the shitty teams in the west can beat anybody from the east.
  12. when you walk down the street does the sad charlie brown music just automatically play?
  13. not a great week for me last week, but thankfully juan went with the rarely used 3 start strategy, which really backfired for him.
  14. there, i went and figured it out. he scored 10.25 points on monday and used two starts. tim, please add those points (and starts) to KR's score like you did last week for RWD.
  15. wait, so we're not giving KR back the points he had from monday (and making him use the two starts he used)? we've done this every single other time this has happened this year, right?
  16. frankly, the league is kind of a [expletive] mess this year. it may be time to mercy kill it. people are clearly not paying as much attention to it and due to our billion complicated rules, it is very difficult to bring in new people to replace those who aren't actively managing.
  17. was mike minor in KR's lineup on monday?
  18. Not really the point. Sort of the point, actually So teams can continue to do things against the rules and it's okay as long as they don't win? Got it. MR has been about the most stickliest stickler for the rules this year, i don't think he's saying that. i definitely think he should have points taken away for having an illegal roster, win or lose. however, we seem to have abandoned that "wipe out your points if your roster is illegal rule." now if he gained points from those illegal players, i think you could tell tim or whoever is the commissioner and he could take them away. but in a match up that you won against a team that doesn't appear to be in the race for a playoff spot (that could require a points scored tie breaker), it's probably not worth getting worked up over at this point. especially since i don't know that anyone has ever figured out how many illegal points he scored. now, either al or rodelo needs to add up the points earned/lost by KR on monday and get that to tim so the adjustment can be made. they have a close match up and both are in the playoff race.
  19. we need to take this [expletive] to yahoo or something next year. either cbs [expletive] sucks or the settings we have established are messed up.
  20. no, but we don't seem to be applying that rule. secondly, i think he had negative points for the day, so he should probably "get" those points.
  21. his roster is illegal. like i said in the chat, he may have actually had negative points yesterday due to myers.
  22. that's not how it's been done in the past is it?
  23. does this not reset if you make a claim? for example tim just claimed howard off waivers...he's still currently second on the waiver priority. i haven't claimed anyone off waivers all year (i don't think) and i'm 14th.
  24. Agreed, but I don't really understand how stern's question was the appropriate response. As the article mentions, this wasn't really a loaded question. Answering the wife-beater question with a yes or a no implies you have beaten your wife. The thing about Rome's question was that he was giving Stern the opportunity to say no, and give reasons why it is a ridiculous thought. One thing that annoys me about Rome is that his interviews almost have a narrative that he controls--basically answering his own question while he asks the question... but he also generally is very favorable to his guests (Jim Everett notwithstanding). It is a stupid question in the fact that Stern obviously isn't going to admit to anything, but he was giving him an opportunity to shoot it down and explain why thinking so is stupid. i don't think stern wants/needs an opportunity to shoot it down. even shooting it down legitimizes it to some extent. i doubt stern wants any headlines reading "stern denies draft was rigged."
