  1. So wouldn't that be contingent on Humphries (who is an unrestricted FA) wanting to play in Orlando? This is a terrible offer for Orlando, but they probably just want the headache to be over.
  2. Didn't we try to do something similar with JJ Redick? I vaguely remember front-loading it or something so that Orlando couldn't match (yet they did). I don't see why Houston shouldn't have to pay the contract the way they designed it.
  3. Yeah, they must have been told by Orlando that there's no chance they're trading Dwight there. I still don't know why you would ever trade for Joe Johnson and that contract. If they resign Deron, they have some decent pieces to be good (Deron, JJ, Brooks, Wallace, Lopez, Green, maybe Humphries). But they won't be good enough to beat the Heat, lost all flexibility, and will be in the luxury tax.
  4. That's a good question. I would imagine some type of supplemental pick given to us relative to their record in their final year.
  5. Or you can let Deng expire after '13, amensty Boozer and then still have plenty of money to add to a core of Rose and Noah. I'd probably do the trade for Dwight (although I'm sure the CHA pick and/or Mirotic's rights would also be involved), but it's not as much of a no-brainer for me as it seems to be for you.
  6. Pretty much agree with all this. First mistake was not moving Omer earlier. You don't want to compound that mistake by matching.
  7. Amnesty is only for people that were already signed when the CBA was signed, if I recall correctly. Correct.
  8. Agree. I just wish we could have gotten something for Asik. We should have been able to get a (probably heavily protected) 1st rounder for him. You had to have known someone was going to give him big money. 7 footers that don't suck are very valuable, and now we're gonna lose ours for nothing.
  9. ugh, we better get something back. I'm getting kind of nervous that the Bulls FO is going to match Omer and deal Noah. That would be awful.
  10. This Dwight story has reached a new level of ridiculousness. This is so much worse than the Brett Favre fiasco. Just kick him out of the league.
  11. Please trade Watson/Korver/Brewer to get back into the 2nd round to take either Quincy Miller, Doron Lamb, or Will Barton.
  12. Taylor would be a terrible pick.
  13. I find this team more interesting than teams over the past couple years. Probably just because I like the direction of the organization as a whole and believe this will get turned around in the next few years, where as the past 2 years I didn't have that hope.
  14. I really wanted the Bulls to find a way into the top 10 to grab Jeremy Lamb. I think he's going to be a monster, and he has a pretty high floor. Worst case scenario he becomes one of the best defensive 2 guards in the league with the ability to chip in 12-15 points per game. His ceiling is ridiculous, in my mind. He really can do it all. He has a good jump shot with good range. He has quickness, can handle the ball adequately, tremendous leaping ability, and of course his length. I'm a UNC fan and I think there's about 8 or so guys I'd take over Barnes. The guy is freakishly athletic, but he doesn't play athletic. He looks very robotic out there and doesn't play with aggression. And that was against inferior opponents. I believe this was mostly due to his poor ball handling skills. He isn't very good at creating his own shot consistently at this point in his development either. If he's in the right situation, I can see him developing into a very good pro, but it's going to take a lot of hard work and good coaching.
  15. They also have no use for the unused cap space. Might as well fill it with Ben Gordon and pick up (at worst) a mid 1st round pick. Plus, Gordon only has 2 years remaining, so he'll be an expiring contract next year and therefore have some positive trade value to some teams.
  16. The protected first rounder from the Pistons is protected almost exactly the same as the protected pick that the Bobcats gave to the Bulls. Unfortunately for Charlotte, Detroit seems like a much better bet to deliver that draft pick earlier than 2016. Regardless, they got a potential high first rounder and the better player. It's amazing how much you can get for taking on salary. Is the #10 pick in 2014 worth eating 15 million dollars in cap space? Is the #6 pick in 2015 worth that? I'm not so sure. 2013 Free agents are pretty good. Also, the Bobcats have no use for the better player. What FA are the Bobcats getting in 2013?
  17. What a great deal for the Bobcats.
  18. There was also a variation of that trade as a 3 team deal with Utah. Basically we get Devin Harris and not Biedrins and some other differences in draft picks. But it seems like Deng will end up staying after all.
  19. There are plenty of reasons to hate him despite agreeing that he's the best basketball player in the world right now. I'm sure I would have hated Jordan in the 90s if he wasn't on my team. That's being a fan of a competing team, not being a "meat-head".
  20. Learn the rules of the game you get paid millions of dollars to play, Jesus.
  21. I remember when James Harden was good at basketball.
  22. Ridiculous foul calls on KD. Let them freakin play.
