  1. Any chance this one gets rained out, weather gurus?
  2. Have we set the post ASB rotation?
  3. Oddly enough I had the same exact internal discussion with myself while taking a horsefeathers this afternoon. I came to the conclusion that the MLB pays for it.
  4. I'm ready to start winning again.
  5. It's not like Wade is trying to recruit some FA to the Nuggets with nobody else on the team. He'd be recruiting a big FA to a big market with an all star player in his prime on a great contract and hopefully 2-3 other nice pieces (McD, Mirotic, Valentine, Grant, Lopez, Portis). And it's not like Wade is Kobe yet. He's still a productive and efficient player.
  6. The thought of a deal centered around Love for Wade crossed my mind. But I doubt it's some predetermined plan. I just thought if Wade and Butler didn't mesh and Love continued to be underused(?)/underappreciated in Cleveland something could naturally develop. I'd be all for it. Maybe Love, Butler and 2017FA can form a big 3
  7. I don't remember anyone saying that Rondo was slow. But he's a point guard whose best attribute is being able to push the ball and he's been surrounded by old, slow guys. What is his role going to be in the half court offense? How will this team generate the spacing to allow him to penetrate? Surrounded by old, slow guys? The Bulls aren't incredibly young or athletic or anything, but he still has Butler, McDermott, Valentine, Lopez, Grant, Mirotic, and Crazy Eyes who are all athletic enough to run the court. I think the Bulls will thrive in transition this year and be one of the top 5 or so teams in pace. And they have enough shooters to generate some spacing. It's not like they're gonna play Rondo, Wade, Jimmy, Taj, Lopez together a whole lot (I don't think). I'm guessing you'll see one or both of McDermott and Mirotic in the game pretty much at all times. And although Jimmy isn't a consistently good 3 pt shooter, he's good enough where you can't just leave him wide open out there. And Rondo has been pretty good from beyond the arc the last couple years (last year in particular). The Bulls were the 5th best in the league in 3pt % last year and only lost Rose, Gasol, Noah, and a banged up MDJ.
  8. Well at least it'll be somewhat interesting to see
  9. Another big part of Hoiball is transition offense and Rondo blew the league away in assists in transition. So there's that. It's a good deal. And only 2 years. So I'm okay with it.
  10. Wait, somebody tried arguing that Derrick Rose is not an idiot? I was, am, and probably always will be a fan of his to a certain extent, but come on.
  11. So does this mean I get to see Willson's first start tomorrow?
  12. In reality, the Nationals games are (rather, were) more important at this point. True. I'm just really enjoying beating down on the Pirates recently.
  13. I don't think so. It may even help by masking some of his (potential) injury issues and never starting versus a lefty. With Monteros recent tweet about being proud of WC, I could see him being okay with the situation for a year.
  14. Not a huge fan of sitting KB today. Not that it really matters. I would have rather gave him Wednesday off vs Strasburg if the idea is to give him a day before or after an off day. I really want to step on the Pirates throat. But again, it doesn't really matter.
  15. That would be fantastic as I'll be at Monday's Lackey start. I was originally thinking he'll get Hammel as that is who Schwarber was supposed to catch but that could mean nothing. Lackey would make sense. And then if he handles the adjustment well they can add some more starts from the other starters (except Lester). I think what TT guessed sounds like the most likely answer.
  16. My guess would be Ross catches Lester and Miggy and Contreras split the rest 50/50. Maybe Willson catches Hendricks and Hammel and Montero catches Jake and Lackey.
  17. There's really nothing id rather see less than the Cubs give up real assets for relief pitchers. Unless we're talking Volgelbach-type real assets for Miller-type relief pitchers.
  18. When I tore my acl the first time, the last thing in all sports to come back for me was hitting in baseball. I didn't trust my knee to rotate on my back foot when I swung. It was a total mental thing though, and I didn't realize I was doing it. I could see that. Schwarber injured his right (front) leg, no? I'd think that's much better than his left. His left IIRC
  19. As a pharmacist, it amazes me daily that we still fax some doctors as a primary means of communication.
  20. Bleachers not an option? The rooftop is a fun experience but it's not the same as being in the park. I like both but if I'm from out of town I would definitely rather be inside the stadium.
  21. I still couldn't name more than 4 or 5 players on the Phillies right now.
