  1. Everyones talking about Jims lat move. What should it be, or should he stand pat?
  2. If your talking about lineup, in a purely offensive sense, you have to give theAstros some serious consideration. Pence, Tejada, C. Lee, and Berkman pack some serious punch. While the tail end of the line up is lacking, that may be the best heart of the lineup in the NL.
  3. That didnt last long. the poor little buggers already been reassigned to minor league camp. How is it that teams are always giving guys like Macias and Neifi Perez shots, but nobodys invited Todd Walker, whose always been a solid player?
  4. Year after year, though injury prone, he seems to put up great minor league numbers, and yesterday, I saw him in action for the first time. He has the look of a major leaguer, but with first base as his only listed position, that job will be taken for a while. Hes been great in spring training this year, yes I am aware its mainly against other AAAers and such, but still. I know that we've seen our Keltons and DuBois' fizzle and fade, but at 28 years old, Hoff is considered a senior citizen by prospect terms, and in my opinion, he at least deserves to be somewhere where hed at least have a shot at a major league roster, and with guys with major league experience like Fontenot, Cedeno, Fuld, and Pie fighting for jobs, his only shot at the Cubs roster would be (god forbid) an injury to D-Lee.
  5. ...but no pennant. Sorry for the lack of link/article. Saw it in the Trib.
  6. I know that in Spring Training, individual player peformances are more important than the win/loss column, but I have to admit, as meaningless as it is, its still frusterating to see so many games that the Cubs have the lead going into the 8th or 9th before blowing it. I know its usually blown by some guy who was never ecpected to start the season above Peoria, but still.
  7. After all the hype, I would have expected Colvin and Ceda to stickaround a bit longer. They're good prospects. Neither of them are ready for the major leagues though and probably won't be for at least 1 more year. Obviously, neither of them were going to make the 40 man this year, but dont they usually try to give their top prospects a little more exposure to big league pitching in ST?
  8. After all the hype, I would have expected Colvin and Ceda to stickaround a bit longer.
  9. way to go rule 5 guy and guy who was drafted from us last year as a rule 5 pick and returned to us. All that really matters is that Z and Hill looked sharp.
  10. I was wondering about him. Im surprised we havnt seen him this spring. If nothing else, hed be decent trade bait with so many teams looking for BP help.
  11. Im sure George Steinbrenner will make him very happy in a few years time.
  12. Dont forget Sorianos fractured finger.
  13. Just start him the first half of the season, and then trade him after the break when he traditionally turns to crap.
  14. What a moron. the guy is making WELL moe than what hes worth, and he cant keep out of trouble? He deserves to get dumped by the Cards.
  15. Much like Old Orchard, they can name it whatever the hell they want, but people are going to call it Wrigley.
  16. I like Soto a lot, but not enough to forget that every offensive CUbs prospect Ive invested myself in over the past oh...20 years has let me down. Beak the trend Geo.Break it good.
  17. Im sure he'll be fine, but dont be surprised if Hendry gets a bit more agressive in his persuit of Roberts just in case.
  18. cant really argue with many of those.
  19. Maybe if they would have put some of that money into the team itself, they wouldnt be in 5th place every year.
  20. Pete Rose gets consideration, but not Shoeless Joe? Hardly fair. Hmmm, 2 guys who joined the team well past their prime, 1 guy who had one good season, 1 guy who willbail on the team as soon as possible, and Roberto Hernandez. And They wonder why they've never finished above 4th.
  21. he was included in the 3 team deal that sent Kyle Kendrick to Japan.
