  1. Brandon Backe strikes me as a very angry young man.
  2. Little floater makes me think of something else which is probably appropriate since Marquis is pitching. Thats more of a big, smelly toilet clogger.
  3. Are Cubs fans the only fans out there not comfortable with a 5 run lead? I mean it still seems like a close one to me, especially with Marquis on the mound and an Astros team too dumb to realize theyre out of the race.
  4. What the hell was that? Grand Slam in 5...4...3...2....
  5. Lets just take care of Kaz here and let a more competant pitcher take care of Pence, Berkman, and Lee next inning.
  6. I really needed that. I know those 5 run leads are hard to protect, but we can do it. Just walk Carlos Lee every time, no matter the situation.
  7. Am I the only one who caught Backes reaction there? Priceless.
  8. OK Marquis, pitch 2 more strong innings and your forgiven. For now.
  9. Watch and learn Lou and Marquis, with 2 outs, and a good hitter at the plate, and a bad hitter on deck, what do you do?
  10. OK, who told DeRosa we were playing the Reds? Its a whole new ballgame! Lets let Sean Marshall start this one, as Marquis is already deciding how hes going to gave those runs back.
  11. Especially looking at whose after him in the lineup. It makes no sense.
  12. Im thinking we'll need at least 15 runs today. That or another pitcher.
  13. What is with Marquis that every time we get a run, he insists on giving it back? Please just walk Lee.
  14. Swisher. Easily. Really? Using hindsight, I'd take Fuk. Swish is younger and cheaper. I'd take Fukudome. The pieces we would have used to get Swisher likely would have kept us from having the right pieces for Harden. True....I'd definetley take Fukudome's defense though..Isnt Swisher batting like .234? He is a threat at the plate though,He had the game winning HR in extras yesterday. Swisher has a good OBP too. Kosuke may not be as good as we was earlier, but he was very crucial to our early season success that got us to first to begin with, so you should factor that into such a decision.
  15. Hopefully Jason can not give that run right back on a silver platter.
  16. As long as we keep winning, what they do doesn't matter. Padding leads are good, especially when the Brewers have series with the Nats and then the Padres coming right up.
  17. Yeah, one of them is half days at work to accommodate said 1:20 starts :( yes it is :D
  18. Tejada is sporting a .720ish OPS (nearly Cedeno's OPS), i'm not so sure he's a reason why we should win or lose this game. When half your starting lineup has OPSs in the high 6s/low 7s, a guy like Tejada is a big part of your team.
  19. Judging by the WGN interview with Lou, he want be giving up on Howry any time soon.
