  1. Kosuke would pull a hammy in no time in center surrounded by Soriano and Dunn.
  2. I'll take Hoff as the new Ward, please. Next year you will. And if he makes the most out of his September call up, and Ward continues to suck, maybe in October.
  3. K Rod would be great. CCs going to th Dodgers. He wants to play there, they have the need, and they have the money. I dont see us going after Sheets. Too many teams will be after him, and we already have one pitcher that makes me bite my nails every time the take him out of the game. Imagining Marmol to Wood to K Rod brings chills. Again, its all moot, as he will not be leavin Annaheim.
  4. I'd like to move Sori to RF, Fuku to CF, and sign Dunn. =P~ Yes please. How about Milton Bradley? Everyone on his board has wanted him for the past few years, and I think he only signed a 1 year deal with Texas.
  5. I dont know who this young stud reliever is, but I sure wish we had him on our team.
  6. We'll definitely re-sign him next year, probably try the platoon with Pie out again. He may not be Carlos Quentin or Josh Hamilton, but he was one hell of a pick up off the trash heap. He's maintaining his solid numbers against lefties, and that's good enough for me. I'd rather Fukudome gets moved to center for a platoon so that a big bat can be added as a corner OFer to slide into the #3 slot and Lee hits #2 or #5. It all depends on whats available and how much Mr. Cuban wants to spend. Personally, Id like the put all our free agency eggs in 1 basket this offseason and go after K-Rod, however, I dont think the Angels will let him go. He'll get a record shattering contract for a reliever for sure.
  7. We should win the series quite easily. Carp looked good in his last start, but he's still not pitching that many pitches in a game and we can definitely get to the Cards bullpen. On paper, we should win the first 2 games quite easily. I think even if Carp is throwing well we can take enough pitches like we have in the past to get him out of there early. He can't be on a pitch count of more than 80 at this point so if we can get to the bullpen before the 5th, we're good. Watch Larussa stretch him out to 100 pitches just out of hate for the Cubs and break him again.

  9. Is there ever a time that Howry SHOULD be in. Anyway, in the pre game interview, Lou was saying how he still has faith in Howry and will continue to pitch him.
  10. So Im assuming we'll see Shark sometime today.
  11. how many people really stuck with that team? i remember game threads that were 2 or 3 pages long, mostly fred doing play by play for himself. they were a complete waste of time to follow (except on rich hill days). I'll say one thing, it was a lot less stressful to watch the team at the end of 2006. Losing was expected. If they won, it was gravy. But if they blew a 5 run lead, it wasn't really a big deal because you hated pretty much everyone on the roster. Here's the O'Malley game thread.. viewforum.php?f=26&st=0&sk=t&sd=d&start=640 Beautiful lineup that day Cubs Pierre, CF The Riot, 2B Barrett, C Ramirez, 3B Phil Nevin, 1B Pagan, RF Murton, LOF Perez, SS O'Malley, P Wonder what Rammy was thinking when taking the field w/ that crew of crap.... I cant wait to option out of my contract at the end of this season.

  13. They both are just pretty good players so its less surprising that they are good when they face us There are other lamer players that own us You have the little pests like Augie Ojeda and Aaron Miles who we can never get, but not like Lee and Dunn.
  14. In hindsight, Marquis wasnt that horrible today. Yeah, he gave up a big bomb to Lee, but that happens. He should have been walked, but thats Lous decision, not Jasons.
  15. What's the question and who is Ryan O'Malley? Favorite Cubs vs. Astros moment Woods 20 k game Sammys 66th HR a comeback from 9-0 in 1989 Ryan O'Malleys debut I forget the 5th option.
  16. As far as that poll gos, there is only 1 right answer. And whatever became of O'Malley?
  17. Theriot took a fowl off the foot. He ran OK, but they'll probably take him out to be safe.
  18. Why the hell is he batting after that with a 7 run lead? Get tht hing iced. And while your at it, put in Johnson for Edmonds.
  19. Are there any other players that have 1 team they absolutely own as much as Carlos Lee, and Adam Dunn do to us? The closest thing that comes to mind is Justin Moneau to the White Sox.
  20. Im not so much worried about the conditions as I am about the guy on the mound.
  21. 7 run lead. Surely Marquis can hang on to that, right?
  22. What the hell is he whining about? Sometime, him and Hawk should get together and talk about how umps are the root of all evil.
  23. If Soto can hit a bomb here, I'll finally feel at ease. Unless of course you know who somehow ends up on the mound.
  24. Backe needs to come out or hes going to kill someone, be it one of our guys or an ump.
