  1. Z makes short work of AJ and a malnourished cuban kid. 2 down.
  2. We'll never know. Len and Bob have this one.
  3. Classic Fuku at bat ends with a classic copter. Inning over, and a nice one it was.
  4. ground rule double for Fons. 7-0. Hopefully we see a lot of this over the next 7 months.
  5. 6-0 on what looked like a hit and run type of deal.
  6. The Rookie goes bye bye. Here comes DJ Carrasco to pitch for the Sox. 5-0, 1 out. If we can plate a few more here, this could be a short day for the regulars.
  7. Riot walks. Bases packed again, this time for Koyie Hill. State your case here Koyie.
  8. 3-0 on a Miles single. Young Clayton Richard might have a short day of work today, as I did.
  9. RBI fielders choice for Ram, here comes Miles.
  10. Bradley with a walk. bases packed for Ramirez with 0 out. I like where this is going.
  11. Lee with a single, Fons scores, Fuku to third.
  12. Here comes Lee with a trademark double play opportunity
  13. Fons and Fuku start of with back to back singles. Lets see where this goes.
  14. Or users can avoid senseless attacks. I guess either strategy could work though.
  15. What about the final piece of the triplets..........Michael Bourne? To be honest, I'd rather give WWE's Evan Bourne (aka Matt Sydal) a glove and see what happens than any of the above... =D> Bourne cant do anything that the Mexican Luchadores havnt been doing for decades.
  16. Jake Peavy thread take 37. Its going to be a hot topic all season, so lets not get it locked due to bickering.
  17. Beyond what Illini Iceman said about Papelbon's stuff in relation to getting big league hitters out (which I agree with), Jeremy Papelbon has never thrown a pitch at AA or higher. He has a higher upside than Campusano, whose already been rule 5d and sent back. Hes seemingly been with the organization for 12 years now. Papelbon isnt getting any younger either so he should at least get the chance to see what he can do at AAA. Its not like giving a guy a shot at AAA is a big time investment.
  18. Mark Loretta is also an option. With the numbers crunch in the bullpen, maybe Gaudin can be used to acquire one of the better options listed above. Keppinger is the only oen of these guys who doesnt make me throw up in my mouth just a bit when I think of them in a Cubs uniform, and I don't see any reason for the Reds, like you said, a division rival to send him to us so we can bench him. Actually, Keppinger should make you throw up full throttle. Not that I think Nomar or Wiggs are available, but it what universe are they lesser players than Keppinger? In the universe that Wiggington isnt worth what hed cost as a back up and Nomar will play 15 games. Wiggington would be a nice option around the waiver deadline when the O's are long since eliminated from contention. I must have missed Belliard on that list, who could actually be the ideal option as a backup. If Im not mistaken , he can play 2B, 3B, and SS, and has a decent bat for a backup middle infielder. Actually, if Fontenot ends up flopping, Id take him as a starter, or at least a platoon, certainly over Miles.
  19. if MB plays a 50 game season with a .230/.280/.350 line, I blame this thread.
  20. Good thing I didnt invest a late night into that game. Had this been a regular season game, it would have been a perfect example of why the 5 full innings for an offical game rule is unfair.
  21. All I know is Joey Votto better hope that Juan doesnt learn to play 1B.
  22. Donnie Veal ends the season with a 2.50 ERA ans a 1.09 WHIP. Unfortunately, he plays for the Pirates, so he also ends up with a 4-16 record.
  23. Except for the fact that they had been building for right now this entire decade. Braun, Fielder, Gallardo, Laporta, Gamel, Weeks, Hardy, etc. didn't just appear out of nowhere. They have done a nice job developing players, but its like putting worms into a can. Laportas gone. Fileder, Weeks, and Hardy will probably be gone in the next few years. Every year, they come up short. They keep brining up more prospects, and it will probably be the same story.
  24. After so many sure thing prospects failed miserably, maybe they just gave up  . Recently though, it seems that weve been cranking out some god ones in Zambrano, Marmol,Theriot, Soto, Fontenot(Im aware that hes a product of the O's system, but Ill count him). We'll see what is to come for Marshall and Hoffpauir, and even Pie and Nolasco, even though they arent with us anymore.
