  1. I really think that Fuld is auditioning the next 2 days. Why would the rearrange the lineup for him otherwise? Maybe Milton will finally get that DL stint hes been in need of since May.
  2. I was just adding that he was DFAd and it wasnt worth its own thread. Herges is the guy Id really like to get. We have too many guys in the pen that Lou refuses to to go to in any kind of close situation. with Herges, Marshall, Guz, Marmol, and Gregg, we could have a very solid pen. Even Heilman would be a decent #6 guy in the pen.
  3. It is hard to imagine Fuld and Reed on the team at the same time, but remember, at the start of the season we had Gathright and Reed at the same time, and we didnt have a backup shortstop, so if Fuld has 2 great games, dont be surprised to look around Monday and not see Andres Blanco and Micah Hoffpauir.
  4. If this is true, even if Ricketts wont be the owner until the end of August, does he have the authority to give Hendry the go ahead to make a deal and spend some dough?
  5. So Im guessing that Fuld goes to center with Kosuke to RF and Bradley on the bench where he belongs.
  6. But wed need to get to him quick, like a few weeks ago. After 9 months of doing whatever hes been doing, he'll need at least a few weeks to get back into shape and conditioned.
  7. Also DFAd, Jack Taschner. Id give em both a look and get rid of Patton and Hart. Herges would probably be the better choice though since A. NL hasnt had as much of a look at him and B. we dont need another loogy who cant get lefties out. Anyway, yes, Herges would be the guy to go for as a pen upgrade of they're finally ready to put an end to that silly David Patton experiment. He has a season WHIP od 1.184, which Id take in a heartbeat. No reason not to give him a shot.
  8. Guz pitched 1.1 with 1 hit, 1 BB and 1 K. No runs.
  9. Maybe we can do away with Patton, try Fossum as a loogy and use Marshall like he should be used.
  10. Fuld as in the guy that isn't a good hitter? I'd say that makes him a bad candidate. Fuld as in the hot hand. Besides, we all know it will only last a few games, so why not experiment. Because it's a bad idea. Because Sorianos .292 OBP has been working out so well for us at leadoff.
  11. Fuld as in the guy that isn't a good hitter? I'd say that makes him a bad candidate. Fuld as in the hot hand. Besides, we all know it will only last a few games, so why not experiment.
  12. Fuld is the best candidate. Fuld CF Theriot SS Lee 1B Ramirez 3B Soriano LF Fukudome RF Soto C Fontenot/Baker 2B Looks good to me. Wait, am I leaving someone out? Oh yeah, but I guess Fox will have to stay on the bench for now.
  13. Or we could have just kept Mike Stanton around. 6 of 1, half a dozen of the other.
  14. With Ramirez, Johnson, and Miles due back sooner than later, it may ver well come down to 1 of these guys back in Iowa, unless a trade can be arranged. In a perfect world, Fox could be a backup catcher, but from what I hear, thats not an option. So who stays and who goes in such a situation Lefty/Righty: We all know Lou wants lefties. advantage: Hoff Defense: Hoff is a better defensive player, however, Fox is capable of playing multiple postions. However, when Ramoirez is back, they could also just use Font or Baker as the backup 3B, although youd rather have Foxes bat on days when Ramirez is off than Baker or Blanco, who would probably take Fonts place at 2nd when Fonts at 3rd. Advantage: Draw Offense: Fox seems to be a much better batter. Hes more likely to take a walk or at least work a deeper count than Hoff who seems more likely to swing away and hope he gets ahold of one. Advantage: Fox Age: Fox is 3 years younger than Hoff. At 26(almost 27) Fox is a few years older than your average prospect, whereas at age 29, most players are at their ceiling are at there ceiling advantage:Fox Fox seems to have much more of an upside than Hoffpauir, however, due to these factors, this makes him a more attractive trade candidate if it comes down to that, so we'll see what happens. We had both Ward and Floyd in '07 and that worked out, so maybe theres room for the both of them. Of course, the obvious choice would be to let Miles fly, but I dont know id Hendrys ready to do that.
  15. Awesome game. 3 runs scored, 2 were RBI walks and the 3rd was a single by Z.
  16. Now thats some good Gregg. And we still have Hart, Shark, and Marshall who are capable of pitching multiple innings. Quality innings? Who knows. Hopefully we dont have to find out and it ends here.
  17. Please just end it now. Jake Fox, Im looking in your direction.
  18. Baker hate is something this board is no stranger too.
  19. Because its pretty likely that he's not the long term answer so why get excited about being teased? I don't think anyone believes he's a long term solution, but you have to ride the hot bat. Waiting around and hoping Sori gets hot could cost this team the season. Its not about being "the answer" or getting teased, its that Fuld has given us 2 steller games, while Soriano has done nothing. Just ride the hot streak out and let Soriano rest his knees.
