  1. Always fun to see mini Soriano on one of his hot streaks.
  2. Lous totally throwing Soto under the bus in his post game. maybe he deserves it partly, but Marmol didnt need to melt down like he did. I think we all know we'll be seeing Koyie Hill tomorrow, hopefully not longer.
  3. You suck at life Theriot. Great game ass holes. I know Halladay will make you look silly tomorrow, but at least try to go 2-3 vs. the Astros next week. I dont think thats asking for too much.
  4. I know Soto really fucked up last inning, but pinch hitting for him is a boneheaded move.
  5. Will this be another one of those 2 out 7 run rallies like we enjoyed from the Reds?
  6. Marmol derves the L and the BS, but Soto deserves an assist.
  7. I guess thats what we get for starting to care. At least we have the Astros coming to town after Halladay.
  8. You know Lous going with his defensive replacement if we hit extras now.
  9. Marmol with a 1 run lead is always interesting, although it wasnt a problem yesterday. Marshall took care of the tough part of the lineup, so hopefully Marmol can find the strike zone.
  10. A lot of bad baserunning moves on both sides today.
  11. With Marmol, Soto, Castro, Cashner, Colvin, Marshall, Wells, and even Theriot, kind of, this is easily the best bunch of home grown players in the bigs weve had in a long time.
  12. NICE! That might be Ryan Theriots 2010 personal highlight.
  13. I need to know once and for all why you have the girl from the Taco Bell commercial as your avatar.
  14. With Heyward in a swoon, and I havnt heard much about Stanton, if it werent for Strasberg, Castro might have a legit shot at the NL ROY.
  15. After a brutl month of June, starting with the Cardinals game, its good to see Randy really pulling it together.
  16. If the Mets want pitching as much as they say, I wonder if we could sucker them into taking Z, as long as they dont sucker us into taking Oliver Perez in return. The down side there is if Z doesnt like the Wrigley boo birds, Mets fans could send him on a killing spree. Also, maybe selling them high on Silva is a possibility. Personally, I wouldnt cry id we moved Z, Lilly, and Silva, and next year start with a rotation of Demp, Wells, Gorz, Cashner, and Diamond/Jackson. Or else, maybe we could try to buy low on Eric Bedard, Justin Ducherer(or whatever), or Brandon Webb, depending how low theyd go.
  17. Cantu will be cheaper, younger and actually has a better career OPS. I'd rather have Cantu myself. Huh, Cantus only 28. I dont know why I thought he was in his mid 30's. Id personally prefer Beltre for his power and defense, but I wouldnt complain about Cantu. I guess the good thing about Cantu is that he can play 1st as well, so depending on the price, maybe we can bring him on anyway if Aramis stays. Between, Beltre, Cantu, and Aramis, I really hope we have 1 of the 3 at 3rd next year.
  18. Good to see Lou stick with a lineup for once. I just hope he doesnt decide to play musical chairs again next time they lose.
  19. I really hope that if nobody offers a good enough return for him we just offer arb and pocket a pair of draft picks. I know he loved Chicago, but not enough to not make the most out of a weak FA class. Even at his age, he should be able to net 1 more 3 year deal.
  20. Bengi Molina hit for the cycle in Boston this evening, and then was removed from the game after straining a calf muscle legging out the triple. Bummer.
  21. I never lost any sleep over McGehee. Even when he was doing well, it was something that we never would have seen coming judging by his minor league stats. I see it the same way as if Randy Wells stayed with the Blue Jays and did what he did for the Cubs over there. Sure, its a good sucess story for him, but you cant really beat yourself up over a guy who really didnt show much promise with us.
  22. If Beltre does opt out, I wonder if hed be a possbility to replace Aramis if he opts out. Hes a great defensive player. Cantu is another one. Wed really need a replacement of some kind. Vitters isnt ready, and Marquez Smith is the only other 3B prospect we have, and he aint the guy. I really dont want to go any length of time with a Baker/Font 3B platoon ever again.
  23. baseball prospectus put the cubs' playoff odds at about 1% coming into today. you're welcome. So your saying theres a chance.
  24. Speaking of Hak Ju Lee, hes 4-4 tonight, all singles. I just hope that Hak Ju Lee doesnt end up being Korean for Ryan Theriot.
