Nah, the Cubs haven't reached laughing stock status. They're bad but it's not like the Cubs are getting blown out every game. Even though these one and two run losses seem to hurt more... As long as the pitching remains as good as it has been (especially lately), they can't be the laughing stock (that currently belongs to Baltimore). Baltimore is the worst team in baseball, but there was never much expected of them. There not relevant enough to be a laughing stock. The Cubs, on the other hand have a bunch of underachieving sluggers, and while the expectations for them werent as high as they have been the past few years, they werent expected to be quite this awful. The starting pitching has kept them in a lot of games, but the offense is just brutal. Of all of the "fecal league" teams, The Cubs payroll dwarfs the rest, aside from the Mariners.
