  1. Back to back big offensive games, especally vs. lefties is a big thing for the Cubbies.
  2. He is looking sharp, the Pirates just seemed to know what was coming the first 2 innings. I remember there was talk of him tipping his pitches a little while back, I wonder if they need to look into that again.
  3. Dont tell Hendry, he may try to lock him up to a 5 year $200,000,000 deal.
  4. This is just Dukes 2nd outing off the DL, so I dont expect him past the 5th and we can get to that Pittsburg bullpen.
  5. Soriano Deep! Funny, I was listening to the first inning on the radio, and just as Lee was about to crank one, Pat said that the Cubs big 3, Soriano, Lee, and Ramirez have never homered off Duke. Does this mean Rammys due for one?
  6. Does anyone else get the feling that the Cubs pitchers only watch tape of the heart of the other teams lineup and allow the 1,2 and 6-9 hitters to beat em?
  7. 8 over, 10 over, 1 over, whatever. The only number that matters is the 1.5 over the Brewers.
  8. I do hope that the Cubs give him one more shot next season, after all the surgery the organizations paid for. If not, it would be like restoring a '65 Chevy an then leaving it on the side of the road with a "Free" sign.
  9. I believe we were upn 4-2 when I headed into the red line tunell, when my little radio reception cut off and as the train emerged from said tunnell, Jason Marquis' melt down began. Still, I had the feeling that this one wasnt over.
  10. Unless of course the Cowboys and Pacers become baseball teams next year.
  11. I went to school in Wisconsin for 5 years, and although I hate to admit it, I still have quite a few cheesehead friends, and believe me you, Brewer fans, and Wisconsin sports fans in general, while just as passionate as Chicago fans are even quicker to turn on their teams after a big loss then Chicago fans.
  12. Im not worried about the Marlins. Usually, teams save the real spoiler ball for the contender in their own division, and would use this series to try out some of their call ups. At least I hope so. I can easily see the Brewers sweeping the Cards, not because LaRussas out to get us, but because without Pujols, which is likely, the Cardinals are worse than that other team from Missouri.
  13. I just hope its not one of those cases where they score double digits in one game and go limp the next.
  14. Now we're in buisness. Just avoid the double(or triple) play Rammy.
  15. Marquis did as good a job he could at limiting the damage, but Lou might want to prepare Marshall or even Trashel in case he gets into trouble again next inning.
  16. If thats the only run to come out of this, I'll take it.
  17. Double play is in order here, and LaRouche is the guy to give it to us.
  18. Morgan McClouth Sanchez LaRoche Nady Batista Paulino Izruris Maholme
  19. crap. Cubs can never contain these pesky speed demons.
  20. OK, Ill admit, the wording and conception was poorly executed. However, Im not saying that die hard Cubs fans will all jump ship as soon as they finally win the big one. Its that the Cubs will go from being a franchise loved throughout the country to just being another baseball team. Hey, Id make the switch in a heartbeat, however as I said, a huge part of the history and mystique of the Chicago Cubs Franchise is the draught, and if it were to hit 100 years, that would not only be legendary, but incredibly marketable.
