I really do feel for Griff, as hes one of the class act in the game, however you need that killer instinct in a situation like this, and Theriot should have been sent. Its not like holding him at 3rd makes Griff better.
Brilliant move by Theriot. He knew he had a 50/50 chance of being thrown out, however he also knew that had he held at first, hed have a 90/10 chance of being the victim of a double play.
