  1. He'll join Michael Barrett, Morgan Ensberg, Scott Hairston, and Rob Mackowiak on the list of random mediocre players aquired by the Padres througout the course of the season.
  2. In the shape Pujols is in, a homer is more likely than a base hit. He'll probably be going all or nothing.
  3. Cards are still an Eckstein infield single and a Pujols blast away from tying this one up.
  4. They are a horrible team but they've battled intra divisional teams. I'm suspicious. Again, this same bad team swept the Brewers the last time they faced them. wrong! this is nothing close to that 'bad team'. get a grip... LOL, you get a grip buddy. The Cards are a very good team whose entire roster is injured, leaving tham with bunch of mediocre players.
  5. Glad to see that the Brewers are loose on Thursday and Friday and that the Cubs are loose on Thursday - which begs two questions... 1. Why aren't the Brewers and Cubs loose the other days? 2. How does being loose make the Cubs' magic number go down? Even if the Cubs lose, loose, whatever, as long as the Brewers lose as well, the MN goes down. I realize the magic number goes down for every Cubs win or Brewers loss; I was just giving you a hard time. gotcha.

  7. The Cards just won a come backer against Lidge. That could get some momentum going for them.
  8. Lets see. Monday-Brewers win, Cubs idle. MN 4 Tuesday-Brewers win, Cubs win. MN 3 Wednesday-Brewers win, Cubs win. MN 2 Thursday-Brewers Loose, Cubs Loose. MN1. Firday-Brewers Loose. Cubs should be facing Harang, but if the Brewers loose, who cares. Cubs Clinch! Im going to say Friday, Maybe Thursday.
  9. Some people forget that the MVP is the guy who is most valuable to his team, not the best all around player, which is why I'll never understand Andre Dawson winning it in '89. If he wasnt there, would the Cubs have finished worse than last place? This is why I have to give it to Prince Fielder. Hes the difference between the Brewers being a 2nd place team and a 4th or 5th place team.
  10. Likely 3 game sweep for the Brewers here. We just need to take 2 from the Fish and 1 from the Reds, and assume that that Brewers cant sweep the Padres, or take 2 from the Fish and 2 from the Reds and let the Brewers do whatever the hell they want.
  11. My bad, Braves still down by one, but Yost looks more pissed than Piniella, LaRussa, or Cox ever did.
  12. Braves tie it up on a Bill Hall screw up! Yost ejected!
  13. Sorianos little hops are about as neccessary as Sosas, but if it keeps him going, then more power to him.
  14. I think in is short time in the majors, Soto has already thrown out more runners than Barrett and Kendall combined.
  15. For a guy who was aquired to help out against lefties, Craig Monroe...need I finish that sentence?
  16. Is it really possible to describe Geovany Soto without using the term "MONEY" at least once?
  17. Keep it up big man. The Braves dont look like they'll be of much help today.
  18. Youd think a guy in his free agent year whose had the career hes had would be doing a little better. His value seems to go down every game.
  19. I thought it was only physically possible for that to happen to the Cubs.
  20. Im fickle, so at this point in time its 1)Soriano 2)Ramirez 3)Marmol 4)Lee 5)Lilly Honorable mention, DeRosa, Soto, Theriot, and for a brief instant in the 6th or 7th inning of yesterdays game, Sam Fuld. I missed Sports Center, but Im hoping that 9-3 double play made it in there. List subject to change as a result of a mini slump or a power surge from another player, so theres a chance that by dinner time, Zambrano could move in there.
  21. It looks like Sheets wont be coming back anyime soon. Otherwise, they wouldnt be enrusting a guy who hasnt won since the Spin Doctors were cool in a must win game.
  22. Zambranos 3rd and final "season" of 2007 begins tommorow.
  23. Another big ace vs. ace game for Big Z. Hows about you dont choke this time around big guy? The offense has already taken down 2 pitchers this weekend who have had our number their entire short careers, lets make this guy number 3.
  24. Gallardos really due for a meltdown. heres to a magic number of 6 by dinner time.
