  1. Even using raw stats this isn't true. Luck is a rookie. The stats are very close to even and Luck has got his team in the playoffs in year one. If every GM in the NFL was offered the choice of Luck or Bradford, how many would choose Luck? And how many seconds would it take them to make that decision? Who the [expletive] cares? Luck is an average quarterback and he doesn't posses some gene that allows him to play better in certain situations. Well, I guess we disagree. It's probably not genetic, but I do think Luck is a winner. This isn't baseball...I think the QB being "a winner" actually does have an impact on team play. He was a winner because he had such an easy schedule. He didn't take them to the playoffs, the AFC took them to the playoffs.
  2. We can stop with the stupidity of calling Stanton Pujols. It's hyperbole; calm down, spaz. Hyperbole can't be stupid? Spaz.
  3. We can stop with the stupidity of calling Stanton Pujols.
  4. Well, you shouldn't. Prospects have a wide range of value and the guys listed on this are pretty valuable. Two quality major leaguers plus two quality prospects is a very steep price to pay.
  5. I don't think NFL players are going to respond to an offense that requires giant pictures of ESPN talent.
  6. guys signed contracts to align themselves with Lovies' deal, they knew what was up. In the end if they want out they will be able to get away in time to get other jobs.
  7. He's white Lovie. Offensive coach, gone thru many d coordinators. Hasn't won anything despite being mildly successful in the regular season. 1 SB appearance. Similar clock/challenge related issues as well. Although he's been significantly more successful than Lovie, due in no small part to having a well rounded team that was competent on both offense and defense. He's also got a 10-9 playoff record, compared to Lovie's 3-3.
  8. San Diego already has their QB and presumably know how to field an offense. But they've already dealt with having regular season success and playoff disappointment. The Eagles have been run by an offensive mind for years and may want to go a different direction. I'm going to guess Buffalo won't go with another Bears retread after Jauron.
  9. By playing an easy schedule.
  10. I'm not going to begrudge these guys their feelings about Lovie. This is what he did best, got guys to believe in him and give their all.
  11. I know it was his thing to practice it, but geez you don't think guys like Tillman won't continue to do that? I think it's a pretty safe bet that the Bears will have fewer takeaways in the future.
  12. What leads me to think that are the many quotes I've read from Urlacher indicating he begrudginly went along with the system because that was the system his head coach demanded. But it's been stated many times he doesn't like it.
  13. The Dallas job requires being employed by Jerry Jones, so it's not a good one.
  14. Urlacher hated playing cover-2 LB in his career, maybe he feels his career can get a second wind by going into a system that asks him to do other things.
  15. Devin Hester: "I don't even know if I want to play again. Man, it's been on my mind for two years now." Is Devin as emotionally unbalanced as Tommie Harris was? His play the past two years sure indicates he wanted out before. I'm not surprised but it was kind of telling that Lovie kept going back to the Hester well even when he was killing the team with his worse and worse returns. That loyalty is appreciated by the guy's who are lucky enough to get it.
  16. I am going to assume that all assistants positions will be determined by the next head coach, with the exception of Tice and/or anybody who decides to leave on his own. I'm not sure there's much point in the team making a decision on anybody else, unless they Emery decides to insist on Marinelli staying and being the de facto head coach of the defense.
  17. If it wasn't already out there, you can rest assured that Cutler haters will lean heavily on the "coach killer label". Bradshaw is probably livid at Jay right now.
  18. The last part is why it is hard to be too adamant about how "fine" of a head coach he was. I get what you're saying, the Bears could have enjoyed great success under Lovie. He does what he does well, very well. The problem is the parts he struggles with are fatal flaws in today's game. The biggest parts of being a head coach are hiring the right staff and making correct calls on personnel. Lovie was a terrible personnel decision maker and just as bad at hiring offensive staff. If there was some offensively strong organization with a QB, system and OC already in place, he'd be a great hire. But organizations that have those things already generally aren't looking for outside hires at HC.
  19. Brad Biggs ‏@BradBiggs Emotional Devin Hester says he is considering retiring from NFL. feel free Devin
  20. Clayton said a lot of weird things. Yeah I'm a few minutes behind. Right now he's talking about how the Bears should agressively go after Andy Reid and pay him what he wants. Yeah, wtf. PASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS If you want to pass a lot, Reid is your guy.
  21. I'd have to say yes, it's happened at 10-6. Lots of teams go through playoffs or bust years, and some coaches get fired even after making the playoffs, like Dungy.
