Haven't they also had a punt blocked? They have been bad on special teams this year. Maybe they aren't awful on coverage, but special teams issues tend to bleed into one another, considering they are coached by the same man. They are going to be punting from deep in their own zone and that is going to be an issue this week. Yes, they have been bad on ST this year. And they are actually good in coverage (far from not awful) when they actually try to cover, though I guess the fact that they just let a ball sit there doesn't really count FOR them. But I don't know that there's any proof to special teams issues "bleeding" into other areas. Nor do I know how you know for a fact the Bears will be punting from deep in their own zone this week. It's just something they tend to do. Their idiot returns take balls out of the endzone and get tackled on the 11. If this coincides with the offense in shutdown mode, there is a quick three and out and a punt from inside the opponents red zone. Making that assumption is no worse than you disregarding bad results. All these bad decisions and mistakes go back to having a bad ST coach.
