  1. LOL [expletive] off Philly three top prospects probably means different things to different people. It says right there in the quote "the Phils want "two that can play right now and another that isn’t far away." Yeah, and at one point the Cubs too were obsessed with getting guys who would play right now. That doesn't make them amazing.
  2. Huh? He either really wanted out of Colorado (was he an anti-drug guy?) or is convinced he will suck in 2015.
  3. I would hope so because otherwise, that's silly. It's like a throwback to the Hendry days if that's their biggest signing of the offseason. How can you value a top 15 pick so lightly? What is it exactly that you think the Hendry days were? I remember the Hawkins signing pissing me off since it was just a reliever that lost them the pick. But I don't remember that being a pattern.
  4. oh god, Brandon Tierney. That dude is the worst kind of tough talking radio goon.
  5. bernstein talking about not knowing who is running the Bears. I really don't get this quasi intellectual nonsense.
  6. when he falls outside the top 20 in most advanced metrics for QBs it's worthwhile to consider if he's been a significant part of the problem he's part of the problem, but not to a significant extent. not when you lose 1000-2
  7. when are you going to take away Cutler's ability to check out of runs? why would you want to take away Cutler's ability to check out of runs? because the guy sucks at safety that's true
  8. The guys at ESPN that keep reporting this/making up rumors have the same line of thought that idiot Mets fan did when he came here after the Russell trade. It's not just Mets fans. Lots of Yankees fans are convinced the Cubs will trade Castro for Mets pitching. I'm not so sure it's particularly idiotic.

  10. It doesn't help that 75% of all press conference questions related to whether or not Trestman would bench Cutler.
  11. MLBRosterMoves ‏@MLBRosterMoves 2m2 minutes ago The @Mets sign OF Michael Cuddyer to 2-year deal. #HotStove So the Mets give up 15th pick for the right to sign this guy? Is this a sign they plan on signing multiple QO types?
  12. Probably. I think the problem with Cutler is not the turnovers that people understandably freak out about, but the fact that he isn't making plays. He's been "fine", but this team is so bad they need him to be super beast to win.
  13. Bowen calls out full week off during bye week. Calls NFL practice essentially a walk through.
  14. Yes. This. Are they on the Score? I might bite the bullet and listen to sports talk. yes. this is the only time I listen to this stuff, when the Bears have a press conference.
  15. If Emery was actually keeping these guys here in an intentional tanking situation, I would actually be more impressed with his diabolical manner. Bowen knows Trestman has no business with this job.
  16. When? In 40 years he has spent 2 seasons as a DC in the NFL.
  17. This team is going to hire Schiano this offseason aren't they?
  18. Nobody should be surprised by this. Annoyed? I guess. But surprised? No. No kidding. I don't understand how anyone could think any firings right now would do anything besides just making meatballs feel better. I would be fine with being treated like a meatball that needs some soothing. What would actually be soothed? You're just going to slide a placeholder from the same incompetent system into the job. It's not like they'd hire anyone worth a damn halfway through the season. Somebody who fucked up the Bears would get publicly shamed and fired for it, that would be cool.
  19. Bowen is one of the least meatbally former player turned-reporter that's in the industry right now. Surprising to see him so vocal about the lack of accountability. Well, I'll say this. 99 times out of 100 the touchy-feely stuff is crap. But this team has totally given up due in part to lack of leadership. And that leadership seems to be extremely touchy-feely.
  20. I'm not really sure why that is asking for too much. This is his 2nd year and they have taken a huge step back. This isn't a disappointing team losing games they should win. This is an awful team getting obliterated at a historical rate. If they were capable of being mediocre it may be asking too much, but this team is playing worse than any team in the league right now. I'm talking about firing him in the middle of the season. Coaches don't get fired in the middle of the season, if it would have happened, it would have happened during the bye. I mean, that's simply not true. Coaches do get fired in the middle of the season.

  23. Nobody should be surprised by this. Annoyed? I guess. But surprised? No. Yep. Few NFL teams make changes midseason (this isn't the hitting coach on a disappointing baseball team) and the Bears (at least to me) seem to be even more conservative than most franchises. I don't get the idea that few teams make changes midseason. Is there some sort of list proving this to be the case? Seems to me at least one or two teams fire their head coach during the season every year, and that doesn't even take into account coordinator or position coach changes.
  24. seriously dead man walking. Gotta love all the questions about benching Jay. Trestman has been fairly anti-Cutler in this one. THE ENTIRE TEAM BLOWS.
  25. he's closing his statements one minute in?
