  1. Yeah, this isn't a case of the media jumping at the first opportunity to criticize Marshall. If anything he's made it impossible for them to keep pretending everything was just fine. There's been a definite uptick in the "crazy", without a doubt. But I do feel like there's a certain amount of the local media that has been waiting for just that. I'm not saying it's unjustified, unfortunately. If they've been waiting they would have pounced earlier.

  3. I had forgotten that stupid fact.
  4. young people like dumb stuff
  5. standard 4th/5th OF who "mashes" lefties and looks gritty and stuff? A RH corner OF seems incredibly redundant with Soler and probably Bryant playing hundreds of games at those spots, plus Ruggiano already in tow as a lefty masher reserve who can actually play a bit of defense. I can see a RH CF because 1) the incumbent there is (primarily) LH 2) Ruggiano isn't much of a CF and 3) the incumbent has the most tenuous grasp on the position, but for a corner OF I don't get it. I guess there's a decent chance that if Bryant is an OF then you could carry 6 OF including him and Alcantara, but I'm not seeing much benefit to the Gomes archetype. also of note is the fact that jonny gomes will be 34 in a week and sucks and every media member following the Cubs said they would be going after gritty grindy veterans to teach the kids how to play.
  6. Forest was actually the one they got to take all his tests.
  7. Did CSN even have an HD feed in 2008? The game was aired on WGN and they did have an HD feed, just not in this game.
  8. Bears fans are dumb. http://www.sideleagueblog.com/sideleague-2/2014/11/12/jay-cutler-tells-the-onion-that-the-chicago-bears-need-a-new-punter-some-bears-fans-have-never-heard-of-the-onion-apparently 100% knew that was going to happen. I'm going out on a limb to say you could find such a reaction on twitter to every article ever written on the onion. Nope. If that was about Peyton Manning, everyone would have known it was a joke. *I would have used another Bear, but people would believe it if Marshall (crazy), Briggs (fatty), or Allen (crazy) were said to have said it too. Nobody else on the team talks. But the onion probably isn't writing that article with Peyton Manning in place of Cutler. That story doesn't work. That's the point. The onion's articles about real life things tend to exploit the public perception of celebrities and what their biggest critics think they are capable of doing. And every time it happens, you can find people on twitter that thought it was real. *Although there have been real life articles where Manning talked about teammates that weren't cutting it.

  10. At first I thought this was in response to the Tavarez DUI news, like the 5 cardinals you'll meet in hell or something.
  11. For anyone holding out hope for Scherzer and Lester. TRADES

  17. It wouldn't be surprising if they do win a few games here on out to screw up a top 8 pick since the schedule does get easier. Definitely; plus I refuse to believe that the offense simply forgot how to play football. They'll pull some wins out of their asses. I'm expecting 7-9 to end the year. 7-9 assumes 4-3 the rest of the way, meaning they have to pull off an upset against one of Detroit (2 games), Dallas or New Orleans (or more upsets if they lose to Minnesota or Tampa). I expect 3-4 the rest of the way. New Orleans wouldn't necessarily be an upset. In Chicago at night in December. The Saints kind of suck, and they'd be on the road.
  18. I see that as a potential scenario, but I put it at something like 20% chance of happening. I don't feel comfortable fully expecting anything out of these guys. If I had to guess I would bet a double digit lead gets whittled down to 1-3 by the end of the game is the most likely scenario, maybe 30%. 20% they lose big, 20% they lose a close relatively well played game. 8% they get up big and then lose ugly. And 2% chance of a comeback win. I'd bet 10/1 odds that a player literally quits during the game. Cutler gives the crowd the middle finger is now off the board.
  19. http://www.vikings.com/media-vault/videos/Zimmer-Expecting-Bounce-Back-Game-From-Bears/0681a0b3-ca87-4081-9fa8-214185a18743?adbid=532605521899954176&adbpl=tw&adbpr=25545388&campaign=social_20141112_35479157 Zimmer is "expecting" a "bounce-back" game from the "Bears". http://33.media.tumblr.com/a599d4694e3d6eb2ff70b198e5d28cfe/tumblr_mfo31r3MqZ1rhnyg2o1_500.gif I'm sure he is very worried.
  20. what is there to discuss? The Bears are 3 point favorites last I saw. On cbs sports pick-em, they are 3.5 point favorites and 57% of the people have taken the Bears at that spread. The media has spent the week focusing on what a joke this team is, nobody is paying attention to the game. AP is supposedly still going to be out. It is going to be an ugly atmosphere on Sunday.
  21. Yeah no, you do not remember that.
  22. I do, it's important to recognizeOlin in his prime was waaaaayyy better then Garza and de le Puente its more important to recognize center is not where you want your best lineman and a big improvement there isn't going to help your team much
