  1. beat me to it. I was thinking they would have 3-4 good years together, and I think this guy isn't going to age well so I am not disappointed with the concept. Needs to be something useful though.
  2. That doesn't really add up. The Philly owners are mega rich and just getting richer. They have been more than willing to throw money at a problem and would probably be very likely to spend big on an unnecessary computer in an attempt to play catch-up with the analytics. It would be a slightly larger price tag than whatever Jim Hendry spent to hire the guy who printed out old box scores to be his big jump into the numbers world. Although it could be a number of other teams.
  3. Really? I think Amaro is stupid enough to think that buying a really fast computer could check off his lack of analytical knowledge. i dont think amaro cares what anything things about his team's analytical knowledge I don't think he would be the one making the decision.
  4. The next Welker (according to dolphins fan at work) It cracks me up that the guys skin color is more important when making comparisons than his height. Hartline is 6-2, Welker 5-9. Most of the replays I've seen of him, he's catching quick slants and deep post routes more-so than the short out routes, crossing patterns, and stab routes that we've become accustomed to seeing Welker run. I would say Hartline's game is closer to Jeffrey's than Welker's. Kyle retweeted Kevin Fishbain @kfishbain · 3h 3 hours ago Saw a few tweets about Brian Hartline as a slot WR (I wonder why…). Only 13.7% of his routes were from the slot per @PFF. Outside guy.
  5. can't they just do a family share on their cloud storage?
  6. So you think that between pitches they will yell out from the dugout that his arm slot dropped by a 1/4" that last time? So much for the attempts to speed up the game. Or maybe this is just another example of the league office cutting off the Cubs attempts to beat the competition. Or more likely it's not the Cubs that spent that much money on a computer.
  7. Tell me what on Earth you could need the processing speed of a supercomputer. The benefit is how quick data can be transmitted. There is simply no need for computing data that quickly unless you think we've got all our players armed with bluetooths to be told when to swing and at what trajectory. well maybe you've answered your own question.
  8. Unless it's being relayed to the players at the point of contact, there's no need for that kind of speed. Spitballing, but maybe for VR-esque training stuff? Agreed that there's no significant benefit to having a supercomputer just to have a supercomputer, although I haven't followed the story so maybe that label is just marketing silliness than actual distinction. Whatever the label, half-a-million-dollars is crazy town. Or maybe they spend that much giving out ipads and iwatches to everybody.
  9. Kyle ‏@Ky1eLong 2m2 minutes ago “@JayDubWard: .@Ky1eLong who has the hotter girlfriend -- Cutler or Aaron Rodgers?” Well Cutty is married.. And I love the newsroom.. Sooo
  10. There's probably some sort of story, although I have no idea what it is. He changes it quite a bit so I had not noticed this before. I asked a buddy that knows a bit about aircraft, if Kyle was piloting a plane there. He thinks it looks more like a helicopter with the layout. Yeah, it looks to me like he's in the left seat of a chopper, with the pilot sitting right seat. I've sat front left on helicopters and front right on small airplanes.

  13. Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 1m1 minute ago Filed to ESPN: Bills have notified LB Kiko Alonso he is going to be traded to Philadelphia for RB LeSean McCoy. Trade official next week.
  14. Not sure what you mean by jaded. I have been 100% on board with the pitching via depth idea with more of a focus on hitters, and have been pushing for it since the Prior/Tex days. All I'm saying is that I believe a pitcher probably belongs at this spot, but I have no idea which pitcher it should be. Nobody screams out as obvious.
  15. That is my feeling. I cannot get excited about any of them and while I assume one of them probably slots it at this spot, I have no idea who it should be. I look at them similar also. And I have Johnson ahead of the pack because he's at the highest level. But I wouldn't say I see them as lottery tickets per se or that I'm not excited about them. This is exactly what this organization wanted. A bunch of guys that project to be middle of the rotation starters. And MOTR guys are pretty valuable these days. But I'm convinced one of these guys could be an Arrieta and exceed his projections with something clicking, more maturity, or a new pitch developing. I can see a legit argument for Pierce as a top 80 prospect. And I can see any of the names mentioned in that same vein by the end of 2015. I'm happy about the group and think one or two will turn into something, I'm not particularly excited about any individual though.
  16. Um. Do you mean Parkinson's? [expletive] no you [expletive] he's talking about [expletive] tourette's. When you swear that much you can't hold steady, bitch.
  17. Brad Biggs ‏@BradBiggs 54s54 seconds ago #Bears team web site announces Halas Hall locker room has been reconfigured. Players again grouped by their position.
  18. That is my feeling. I cannot get excited about any of them and while I assume one of them probably slots it at this spot, I have no idea who it should be.
  19. The low capacity has done a lot to affect demand. When they are good everybody thinks tickets are hard to get. They've done a lot to drum up interest this offseason and now they are doing even more to cause the buying panic. Pre-sale "sellouts", no bleacher seats available. That Crane Kenney is a genius.
  20. He's laying it on awfully thick if he really thought it was a non-issue. I don't think this makes him look nervous that they will push, but I do think it is a preemptive strike of sorts to lay out the non-argument the PA has here.
  21. http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2015/03/03/worcester-native-bryan-lahair-happy-for-another-shot-majors/BywKzUy2EVnnUGOoxQfZeP/story.html If you run into the paywall, try googling the headline "Worcester native Bryan LaHair happy for another shot at majors" He made $5.2 million over two seasons in Japan? Good lord...every AAAA player should go there. Yeah, I've never understood why more of those guys don't go. I realize its a major change in culture and lifestyle, but you can set yourself up for life in two or three years and then go back to MLB if you are just dying to ride a bus around the Southern League. supply and demand, for one. They aren't going to give them all $5.2m. It probably helps that he had the MLB All Star on his resume.
  22. I did. Who is he again?
