  1. The Cubs acquiring Hamels would not be boring.
  2. Presumably they will not participate, or effectively abstain. With normal situations this would create a perception problem where a leader would not have the support to maintain control, but Sepp and Fifa don't operate normally. This would reduce the quorum but probably increase his percentage of the votes, and that would make him happy.
  3. Now I'm starting to get beyond my depth here. Can someone explain this like I'm 5? somebody else can but UEFA is the European federation, in charge of the Champions League. Their participants take part in the FIFA elections and they don't think the vote for Blatter should take place on Friday.

  6. Isn't the way this worked that all the south american guys took money to support the russian/qatari bids?
  7. He released an album and it sold a lot of copies. was there like a hit parody song?
  8. it was like every talk show and website that deals remotely with pop culture
  9. Your loss. It was great. I'm not going to lie, Even Worse was one of my favorite albums of the era, the video for "Fat" is a classic and UHF never gets old. But I didn't know Weird Al still existed outside of the occasional VH1 special. I honestly don't know how you missed him in 2014. He hit #1 on the billboard charts for the first time. He was everywhere for a good 2-3 weeks.
  10. No, but they could be using these guys to roll over on Blatter. I don't see that happening.
  11. Wow, you done screwed up when the Swiss help the U.S. Arrest you for financial shenanigans.
  12. A team that is right near the floor who might be thinking they're getting a guy who was close to winning the Conn Smythe a couple of years ago. All it takes is one stupid team to make a deal. To the extent that those teams exist, there is going to be plenty of competition for teams at the cap trying to sell to them.

  14. Wonder has he ever met Cutler. Guessing not, just like all the other people who write [expletive] based on looking at someone's body language. It's funny because the majority of Cutler's teammates have said he's a great teammate, a leader, etc. but some kicker said something one time and a reporter didn't like the way he looked during a loss and he's permanently a heartless guy who doesn't care if his team wins or loses. the entourage guys wear their hearts on their sleeves.
  15. uhhh he's really not looking forward to batting practice
  16. The Entourage creator/director does not like Jay Cutler http://www.gq.com/entertainment/movies-and-tv/201506/entourage-movie-returns
  17. I'd have less of an issue if they hadn't come out with that whole PR campaign about how they vetted him thoroughly and talked up his character. That's the reason they look so awful right now. Yeah, they went out of their way to let the world know George was against it from the start but was persuaded by McDonald buying his own plane ticket and then having a conversation with his parents. Plus, Fangio "vouched" for his character. They should have said we are taking a chance on him and expect him to be on the straight and narrow and leave it at that. Hub's article was essentially correct, but horribly misguided in its timing. They weren't "wrong" in taking a chance on the guy, but they did handle it wrong and now is not the time to plead their case.

  19. trading away most overpaid players is best way to not overpay your players? Huh, who woulda thunk it?
  20. I do not think this is true because lots of people care about pitcher W-L records but comparatively few people care about QB W-L record. People talk about QB super bowls or lack thereof. They talk about yards and touchdowns and interceptions and playoff records. But I do not hear a lot about QB regular season records. There is some, but it doesn't really compare to pitcher records. yeah it's not even all that close really To be honest, I hear/see more about pitcher win totals rather than record. If somebody went 18-5 or 18-15 he's an 18-game winner.
