  2. FWIW, just yesterday the Seattle Times published this story: http://www.seattletimes.com/sports/mariners/as-the-dustin-ackley-era-continues-to-sputter-in-seattle-a-change-of-scenery-may-be-in-order/

  4. I don't understand. You are suggesting that the fact we know Castillo was on the trading block but didn't know Seattle was going to be his destination means the Cubs front office is not tight lipped? They went out and acquired two catchers. Everybody knew the next move was dealing Castillo. I don't think it had nothing to do with being tight lipped or blabbing to every reporter in town. I believe he's referring to the fact that everyone knows Castillo has been traded and we don't know the return IDK why either side of that necessarily has to leak from either FO in particular, though. (granted, it is the local chicago guys who confirmed the deal after passan) Passan's tweet is an hour old. Castillo may be the only major leaguer involved, is in San Diego and has to meet his new team in Baltimore. I don't think this says anything about the relatively tight lippedness of the Cubs front office.

  6. Presumably they dropped his price when the roster squeeze and bullpen trouble became more pressing.
  7. No, probably not. But there is a reason that subject title has a question mark at the end so don't get too upset.
  8. It's the year of retiring Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 5m5 minutes ago 49ers' DT Justin Smith is retiring, sources tell @JimTrotter_NFL. Great player, big loss, in many ways.
  9. really? That's the nutty part. So he's being forced to manage the roster he assembled I guess.

  11. The purpose here is to pander to military customers They aren't trying to blend into the outfield
  12. sweet goal from swansea
  13. Why would anyone trade a 25 year old #1 starter making $512,000 with 3 arbitration years left? It doesn't matter whether you're contending or rebuilding when you have an asset that valuable, you don't trade him unless you're trying to make a deal for someone like Trout. Why? Because such a player would net a huge return and he is still just a young pitcher that could fall apart tomorrow. If you aren't good and you don't have the resources to get better in a hurry, it is at least worth considering.
  14. Got to think it's Coke, little reason to have 3 LHPs in the pen. With Wood moving to the pen, we have 4 LHPs in the pen. But that's only 4 of 16 strong
  15. More or less quickly than they've blown thru breathalyzers?
  16. I am not because I have no idea what you're talking about. Details?
  17. I prefer one big round cube, but I don't begrudge anybody their preferred method.
  18. Lester is pitching against somebody on Pittsburgh who does not really matter. On another note, I don't like a lot of things in life, but I do like when the Cubs win baseball games. Also I like bourbon. http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--qDltN3-Q--/19fx86jmgd5gcjpg.jpg I'm going to drink a lot more of it tonight as well as this weekend. Hope the Cubs win a lot more as well.
