    I like your line ups, but personally I'm not sold on the Almora/Jay platoon in CF. Baez and Zobrist are both better players than Almora and Jay. Playing Almora and Jay regularly will cut into Zobrist and Baez's playing time, unless the Cubs decide to make Heyward the odd man out. To me it seems the best option is to move Heyward to CF full time, Zo in RF full time, Schwarber in LF full time, and Baez at 2B full time. I want Baez's defense on the field as many games as possible, especially at 2B. Almora and Jay can spot start when the match ups favor them or someone needs a day off. Almora will see plenty of playing time late in games as well. Jay to me is nothing more than a 5th outfielder, probably a tier or two better than Coghlan. Trust me, I'm not in love with the idea of moving a perennial gold glover, Heyward, out of his comfort zone in RF to CF, but to maximize Zobrist and Baez's playing time this seems like the only option. This is where I'm at opening day: Zobrist RF Schwarbs LF Bryant 3B Rizzo 1B Russell SS Contreras C Heyward CF Baez 2B You want javys defense in there as much as possible and in order to do that want an of of schwarber, heyward, zobrist. I'll ask David to do the math but to my human eyes that doesn't add up.

    People get thrown out for drunken buffoonery every game. If somebody with your tic got tossed you could lose access.

    I've forgotten how great that movie is. I've got a weird relationship with the movie because while I think it's good, there's just way too many people who love it for all the wrong reasons and also love saying you couldn't make a movie like that anymore, for all the wrong reasons.

    the cubs do have 4 empty 40 man spots and aside from signing another couple free agents and or the occasional minor league cast off, the quickest way to fill those spots is a 1 for 2+ transaction.

    Same Rule 5 rules apply to Smith on the Cubs. I haven't seen what was traded, but in most cases it's a small amount of cash. it was stated to be a cash consideration, perhaps part of the world series share

    But Duensing is nothing to hang your hat on and that 2nd LHP is a big question. So I see 5 solid spots, three of them being injury concerns that may need the occasional preventive 10 day DL stint, plus these guys are not afraid of an 8 man pen.

    Bears are 8 point dogs. They stinks. But Detroit is Detroit. Detroit is winning this division by default thanks to a 4 game win streak bringing them to 8-4 and a very blah +- of +24 points. Detroit isn't actually good, but they are good at home. The Bears actually managed to beat Detroit at home, which has been rare in recent years. They beat San Fran last week but really haven't damaged their draft position yet, as the 49ers are garbage and were probably destined to pick ahead of the Bears anyway. Detroit can't just skate into the division, and the Bears can't just skate into a top pick. Detroit should win, and my guess is they do so by less than 8. However, a Bears win here would not surprise me.

    From a KC perspective I'd think best case scenario is they are looking at an Aramis Ramirez situation, when the Cubs traded for him from Pittsburgh after an injury plagued age 24 season. The difference is Aramis had already had a breakout year that Soler has not come close to matching. Jorge is a little more patient and strikes out much more. I'm not sold on Jorge taking the next step. If he does, I can live with him playing in KC (and then eventually the Yankees).

    I think the physical examination talk may actually be doctor's reviewing each other's reports on the player, rather than putting the player through an actual hands on physical. or not
