    They really won't. It's not just about a lack of top 5 QB, it's about having to settle for a 2nd round QB or take a flyer on some other team's castoff. They'd probably be much better off drafting offensive line with the first five picks they still have in 2020* and force Mitch to play through whatever injuries he gets before drafting the best available QB in 2021. Not to mention, there isn't an Andy Reid available to run this turnaround.

    A brand new QB and a top of the first found pick are two very key ingredients that the Bears will not have access to.

    Ryan Pace isn't getting another shot at the coaching hire. And I don't think ownership wants to re-spin the "every 2 years we get somebody new plan" wheel. No I don't think Pace should or will get another HC hire. I'd guess ownership will be conservative and give both guys another year at the helm. So if that's what you're factoring into the 3-3 years that makes sense, but it shouldn't take 2-3 years because Pace and Nagy probably shouldn't be back at this point, IMO. Even if they do an overhaul this offseason, the next group isn't going to try and patch things with the current roster. They'll have an opportunity to tear it down and start fresh, which makes the 2-3 years a possible 4.

    They are stuck in QB hell next year regardless of coaching and will be relying on a rookie QB in 2021. Maybe they get lucky and it works as soon as then, or maybe it takes a year or so. Well if its predicated on getting a good QB they could be stuck for a long time. A decent QB with a better coach is a more short term goal, that could still try and utilize the talent they do have now (on both sides of the ball). Ryan Pace isn't getting another shot at the coaching hire. And I don't think ownership wants to re-spin the "every 2 years we get somebody new plan" wheel.

    I turned it off in the 2nd half so I can't speak for everything, but a couple of the "drops" were really poorly thrown balls guys had to try and catch via acrobatics. And there was the underthrown should have been touchdown allowing the DB to break it up. Mitch had his best drive of the year, and looked pretty good at times. But he still suffered from the same problems he's suffered every week. Any way, we're still in the same situation as before. The offense is a mess from top to bottom. The defense is still good, but beginning to crack. We're a good 2-3 years away from turning it around. 2-3 years away from what? Better offensive coaching could go a long way to having this team in the playoffs next year IMO. They are stuck in QB hell next year regardless of coaching and will be relying on a rookie QB in 2021. Maybe they get lucky and it works as soon as then, or maybe it takes a year or so.

    I know I'm alone on this but I like Soldier Field. The opposite of Soldier Field is MetLife, which is just a disastrous horrible stadium in every way shape or form. Soldier Field has unique location, a non-cookie cutter feel, and it's not in the middle nowhere. It's so much better than holding taxpayers hostage for a $2b convention center.

    Have fun. That's a first night of a bizarre home/home matchup with Colorado. My first game this year will be on the 2nd of a back to back nights, in New Jersey. Hockey people will tell you the game is different before the holidays. Can be more sloppy, but still plenty of fun.

    You are an insane person. Detroit has six 10 win seasons IN THE SUPER BOWL ERA. The Bears have won the division 5 times since the last time Detroit did. You quite literally do not know anything about this sport.

    I think you don't know anything about football. The Bears have not been good. They have not been anywhere near as bad as the Browns. Cleveland has been an utter disaster with no glimmers of hope. They've had one 10 win season since 1994. They've had double digit losses in 14 seasons in the 2000s. The Bears and Cowboys each have 6 seasons with 10 or more wins in the 2000s. The Bears have 7 double digit loss seasons to the Cowboys 6 during that time. The Bears and Cowboys are much more similar than the Bears and Browns. The difference is everybody (including you) thinks the Cowboys have been and will be great while everybody knows the Bears are blah.

    the cowboys have not been that good. they've been better than the bears, but the 90s are a long time ago. they are grossly overrated almost every year. They've also had the benefit of never playing in a division dominated by HOF QBs. They've played against two Detroit Lions caliber division opponents the past decade. Switch the uniforms and you'd end up with fairly similar past two decades.

    I agree with this whole post but bolded this because it's important. The Cubs, for all their nonsense, never pretended to prioritize developing a homegrown pitching staff over a lineup. Not even sure why this is even a controversial choice today - we saw what other way around looked like already with the 2000s Cubs and the middle of the decade Mets - it's a path to mediocrity and probably alot more catastrophic injuries It's not a controversial choice. Emphasizing big bats early was the right decision. Pay for pitchers to cover the gap was the right choice. The third part of that though was the need to develop pitchers to plug into the system because you can't buy all the pitchers, and that is where they have failed miserably. Nobody thought they'd have a rotation full of their own prospects. But they needed to get a couple guys, if not 1 and a handful of relievers. They have none.

The Bears moved back into respectability under Lovie Smith, enjoying some really quality seasons but always a step or more behind the best teams. Then they became a joke again after Lovie left, and everybody knew it. Nobody is unaware of the Bears less than stellar history. Everybody knows the stupid 85 team being the pathetic go to of every sad Bears fan. I want them to be shunned into the Browns/Jets strata where they belong. They might get there soon, but they aren't that disastrous yet. A decade of competence under Lovie stabilized what could have easily, and may yet still, turned into a disaster of a franchise.

    What the hell are you on about now you weirdo? First off, the fan base doesn't even know who McCleod is. Next, the people that know Hoyer think of him as a punch line, and finally, a lot of people are getting fed up with Theo. The Cubs hit on some early draft picks that were bats, but the minor league system completely dried up for a few years and has produced nothing. The guy in charge of that is going to take heat in any organization. Nobody gives a crap about his freaking dad's net worth.

    I watched about half of last night's game, it was pretty wild. They had their 2nd consecutive regulation win, which is kind of a big deal for them. And now they've sent down Boqvist to make space for Connor Murphy.
