A 4th round pick for a retired guy is a good get The Pats sent a 7th to Tampa as well. So they gave up Gronk to move up 3 rounds. I don’t think that’s a great return. He was retired and broken and they throw in 7th round picks for free on your birthday when you dine at Denny's.

Sandberg was when I was a kid, but that faded fast when he quit then came back and stunk and then turned into the quintessential "back in my day" guy. Sammy, Baez and Bryant are at the top now. Ramirez is an honorable mention for his trajectory, since I did not like him at first then grew to love him. Kerry Wood is also in the discussion. -

Golf is fairly boring to watch, most of the time. But the majors are great and in this circumstance I'm sure I'd love to just put it on in the background. There will be something missing without a crowd around the 18th tee and people scattering when a shot goes into the gallery. But I also wonder how much of an impact this will make to the broadcasts themselves. Will they have the same number of cameras? Aren't most directors of these things packed into a trailer somewhere switching from view to view on the fly? If the broadcast quality goes down it could make for a very tough watch.

This is dumb and isn't happening. There's too much finger licking in baseball for this to have any chance of working. We're three weeks into a decent sized portion of the population taking this thing seriously, and one week into the dimmer portion of the population realizing what is happening. We blew a three month lead. -

Hundreds of other examples but, hey, I guess if you want to call all those people idiots that's your prerogative. Doesn't mean you're not wrong though. No, most trades do not start off with unpaid internships

Which has what to do with the price of ginseng in Wisconsin? It seems pretty obvious but okay. Workers in many (most?) industries are dramatically underpaid while in training for the positions that they are hoping to attain. In fact in many instances those positions are entirely unpaid. Ergo this is not even remotely a unique situation and given the potential reward at the end of the rainbow not really all that egregious. only idiots work for free
