    Perhaps I'm dabbling in overconfidence but I'm glad it's BC. While none of the players were alive for that game, one click on YouTube and they can see what happens if you screw around and enjoy the hype too much. Damn that was a glorious evening, sitting in the student section and rushing the field while a bunch of girlfriends consoled their wailing boyfriends, who probably all voted for Trump twice.

    You know what the next step is. Bears fandom just isn't ready to admit it yet. Clean house and rebuild from scratch. Bears fandom has wanted to clean house and rebuild every year for 30 years.

    I mean, it's a standard. I think the McCaskeys appreciate that they made a playoff run and are in the hunt this year after being pathetic for a few years.

    I've been thinking the owners want to do away with constant turnover at the GM/coaching level which has been going on repeatedly since Lovie left. Pace has done enough to build a quality team that really just needs a solid QB to be a real contender. Nagy had the team playing about as well as it can, without a QB. I've thought owners would be happy to give Pace and Nagy an opportunity to find their QB together, giving them an opportunity to right the ship and potentially be a stable force. I don't trust them to go out and get better execs. There aren't a ton of them out there anyway. But they would be justified in trying.

    I disagree with every word of this. First, Pace gets plenty of heat. Many predicted the Trubisky draft would get him fired by the 2018 offseason. Instead, they won the division. People were grilling Pace for trading assets for Foles when they could have had Dalton or Newton. Bears fans definitely get on Pace pretty consistently. As for him being horrible.....the Trubisky was weird. It was immediately ridiculed for the trade up. But I'd say about 70% of draft publications had Trubisky rated as the highest QB in the draft, ahead of Watson and Mahomes. And obviously, that pick has been ridiculed since those 2 have become elite QBs. And horrible is a little much. The early round picks are obviously killers. Trubisky, Kevin White and Shaheen were bad picks, but he's also drafted several building blocks for this team (Jackson, Goldman, Smith, Whitehair, Cohen, etc) and Hicks may be the best FA signing of the last 10 years. He has a better draft record than many GMs. I'm not trying to say he's "good" by any means, but he's not horrible. The Bears can and have done worse (see every GM since 1987). I also wouldn't shed a tear if they got rid of him tomorrow. Whoa, hey, Jerry Angelo did an admirable job and only started making bad moves once Lovie gained enough respect and power within the organization to influence the draft.

    I'm also grading Foles on a Bears QB curve. He's still bad. But I thought he was decent yesterday (at least compared to what most are saying) and don't get the calls for Trubisky. Don't think that game gets to overtime with Trubisky. Gotcha. Yeah, definitely not calling for Trubisky. It's pretty pointless. He's gone after the year. Foles is under contract. Might as well see if he can be a viable bridge guy for 2021. Only if that bridge is trying to get the number 1 pick in 2022.

    Dusty was the wrong guy at the wrong time, but he was a perfectly legitimate candidate for a lot of teams (that weren't wholly dependent upon the dominance of young arms). Dusty was hot off a run of great success. He was also in his mid-50s, more than 20 years younger than LaRussa is now.

    I don't get the anti-dodgers sentiment. It's about the only team in baseball willing to pay for talent and they've had a great run as a result and have won the world series. That's a good thing. horsefeathers the penny pinchers.

    That timeout was taken with 12 seconds on play clock and everybody seemingly disoriented. Foles did't look comfortable with whatever was about to happen. It was a big momentum bummer, but that sack was worse and I think it was avoidable. I'm not a big PLAYCALLING! guy, but that game left me quite confused about their intentions. However, it still comes down to ability and the Bears don't have much of it on offense. There's maybe 1.75 receivers and 2 lineman. They've got nothing in the backfield. 2 linemen seems like a stretch. I felt like there's 1 whole one, a half and 2 quarters, but I admit I'm an optimist.

    Stafford just had the weirdest roughing the passer call I’ve ever seen in his favor. It’s like he forgot defenders could tackle momentarily and the refs just felt bad for him.

    Theo's tenure, bust-boom-bust. He brought a WS, but a very mediocre overall result. The boom was great fun while it lasted. They tanked, then were great and declined into well above average. They had 4 90+ win seasons which is a benchmark for actually being a good team rather than just in the running. 3 straight NLCS appearances, four straight playoffs appearances, 5 in 6 years. I think bust boom bust is a fairly inaccurate assessment.
