    While there may have been some value in opening the season in a bubble, with the vaccine already being rolled out and the worst most likely behind us, there's justification in opening at home stadiums. Especially in the NHL which started later and has to deal with the Canadian border issue.

    In all seriousness, why are you allowing guys not coming to the Cubs upset you? It doesn’t upset me, just thought he was a nice target. Especially for $1.1 million they're not hiring a GM because they can't afford one, they aren't signing actual baseball players.

    At the same time, if they did promote Pace and hire Borgonzi as a GM, the fact that he took that job would tell me he's comfortable with the level of control he'd have over the roster and other decisions going forward, so go for it. I cant see Ryan Pace giving up any control over roster decisions. Building the roster was supposedly why we hired him. I can't see him moving up the ladder regardless, since he's in his early 40s with less than two decades of experience and very limited success. He's way too young to be ready to take a step back from day to day ops, unless he's got other stuff going on in his personal life. I haven't seen any real rumors that he was going to get promoted with a GM coming in under him, was just responding to others mentioning such an idea.

    While I agree, Borgonzi appears to be one of, if not the best GM candidate so I'm in. I'm more worried about rumors that they'd promote Pace and bring in Borgonzi as GM. I'm not worried about that. Why would he take that job to be Pace's underling when there's several open gigs and he could be the unquestioned leader of a football ops? At the same time, if they did promote Pace and hire Borgonzi as a GM, the fact that he took that job would tell me he's comfortable with the level of control he'd have over the roster and other decisions going forward, so go for it.

    Eagles and Giants are bitter rivals. Giants needed Eagles to win to make playoffs. Eagles had a chance to win but intentionally pulled a QB and there is a good reason to believe the coach did so with the intention of losing. So, a crappy Giants team misses playoffs and in true sports fashion, people involved blame others, rather than the 10-loss team. Throw in the fact that the sports world is dormant and a hot take is the best way to gain traction right now and you have people talking about it. I don't think it's that big of a story, as somebody who lives in Giants country but with plenty of Eagles people around, nobody gives a horsefeathers.

    Elway moving up to prez role and will hire a GM under him I know this isn't generally the way NFL franchises operate but I think there's a chance the McCaskeys choose to go this way.
