jag or not, he put up over 1k rushing and 1500 total yfs, and he's 23 meaning he likely should hover around those numbers for 5-6 more years barring injury. Sure, if you can draft a Cook you do so, but RB is far from a need right now lol come on man He might have a career year in 2021, but I don't see much upside from here and then you're looking at another year or two after that before a decline. Unless you see another gear, this isn't a guy you're going to want to give a big 2nd contract to, unless you hit on a homerun in the draft that can supplement for cheap and structure the contract to get out 1 or 2 years in. -

so, reduces home runs without decreasing strike outs? Seems pointless to me. strike outs are boring - home runs aren't. Those things don't happen in a vacuum, Home runs and strike outs are correlated even if it isn't a perfectly linear relationship. strikeouts have gone up because teams are more willing to strikeout than they were in years past. Rosters are built with that in mind. Deadening the ball will hurt power, but it's not going to prevent strikeouts from happening until teams start recalibrating their rosters to get more slappy contact guys.

Bears promoted John DeFilippo to passing game coordinator, as well as current role as QB coach. I thought last year's set-up, with a QB coach, passing game coordinator, offensive coordinator and head coach with an offensive focus, was a bit much. Hard to tell if this is about no good coaches wanting to join the Bears in a lame duck situation, or just streamlining that work.

Me as well, Wentz is actually an improvement, the Bears actually have a better OL and offensive weapons than the Eagles. Last night showed it clearly doesn't matter who is playing QB when your line can't block. So, with an uptick in line play and someone to throw to, Wentz, if dealt to the Bears, will probably bounce back from 2020. But the issue remains whatever Pace does he'll quite probably over pay. I don’t think the issue for anyone is Wentz in and of himself. The Bears need someone the play QB next year and he certainly isn’t the worst option. The question is the cost to get him in cap space and draft capital. There’s a trade for Wentz that makes sense. It’s just that most of us have zero faith in Pace to be able to pull it off and pretty much every news leak and/or baseless speculative tweet on possible packages confirms our fears. Nitpicky point, but the random leaks in lying season don't confirm anything. I agree that the suggested trades are not good, from a Bears perspective, but the devil is in the details. Even if they do something like trade their 2022 1st (on the surface a horrible idea), maybe they're getting back the Eagles 2nd, which makes a good bit of sense from a value standpoint.

Only way thats true is if Pace asked George for permission to do it and George, having no earthly idea how it evaluate talent or value in the NFL floated the idea to the media to gather feedback.

If the Bears don't give up a ton of draft capital, and send back Nick Foles, I would not hate the idea. Hell, a Wentz/Mitch QB room could be fun as hell. It gives Nagy a final chance to make his system work with a guy theoretically capable of running it, and it's really only about a 2 year commitment. If it all blows up a new regime gets to pick their own guy with Wentz around for a year or two at most trying to rehab his career.

Pace is desperate so trading a 1st for Carr is very within the realm of possibility. While I'm skeptical of the 1st round value for Carr, that appears to be where the market is at based on the Stafford trade. And it's reportedly not just the Bears/Pace. Stafford's cost was inflated by also taking back Goff. If you aren't paying the Raiders to take back a franchise crippling contract, there is no reason the two should be at all related. And if the Raiders are making the deal in order to facilitate getting an actual star QB, then there is no reason to play along in their overvaluing the guy they want to replace.

Be a better option than Jimmy G, would not require a first rounder perhaps, multiple, like two, at most, middle round picks? The linked story's entire premise is based on getting two 1sts so the Raiders could flip them for Watson.
