  1. This happens all the time at Yankee Stadium. The way they number the sections/rows is really odd, and it screws people up. We had to make a group move from our seats one time, they went a section over to the same seats, and were moved from them because they were actually two sections down.
  2. That team was damn near unlikeable. Near? They well well above and beyond.
  3. Two things about Kosuke, he's coming off elbow surgery, and I believe Japan is much more of a fastball league, and they don't throw as many changes. Off speed off the plate was bound to fool him. But will it fool him forever? I doubt it. He's shown he is very capable of solid plate appearances. He can battle. He can turn on the ball and he can flick it to the opposite field. I think there were quite a few strike 1 called on him that were at best borderline, and it frustrated him. He bagan to widen his zone and was then lost. I would not expect that to last throughout his time here. If he puts in the effort, which I have no doubt he's willing to do, I think he will improve significantly in 2009.
  4. Basically. And he arguably got the job done by getting the batter to hit into a perfect DP ball that would have ended the inning that DeRosa completely screwed up. I think the trib article described his outing as an implosion. I just don't get that.
  5. He always struck me as somebody who liked to blame others whenever possible.
  6. I didn't see them, but weren't the four hits he gave up grounds balls and somewhat of a blooper? Part of that is just chance. It sucks when a pitcher gives up a hit, but the grounders are essentially exactly what you expect out of him. I do think he's on the verge of not making the team.
  7. I've had 5 Mets fans thank me via text and email in the past minute. I say, thanks be to Geo.
  8. You might want to check their batting averages You might want to check their averages over the last month or so. Youre complaing that plus300 hitter and a near 300 hitter cant get hits. You're wrong. the complaint is the sac bunt in the first place
  9. You might want to check their batting averages You might want to check their averages over the last month or so. or completely ignore batting averages which don't tell you much at all
  10. Marquis makes playoff roster for this purpose alone.
  11. 99.67%, the only ones that go longer are Cubs games.
  12. and geo gets thrown out easily at first to end the inning anyway?
  13. Reminds me of a rant I heard about a week ago on NY radio. The host was demanding that Minaya "get some guys in here" to fix the rotation and bullpen, this year. Didn't care where they came from but he had to get guys in here. But he wasn't interested in prospects because you can't trust them.
  14. I can't think of 8 guys worthy of making this roster.
  15. I think we have every right to be, considering how our offense and pen have been lately and Rich Harden
  16. 5 pitch inning bring back the patience. Brewers have thrown 71 pitches through 6 innings.
  17. It's quite possible. Bruce Miles alluded to this possibility, I believe.
  18. I always wonder how people can boo a pitcher for giving up ground ball singles. A ground ball right to a fielder and the guy is a hero, a ground ball 10 feet to either side and he's a bum.
