  1. Are you really judging a prospects-for-big leaguer trade 6 months after the trade? Especially when the 3 prospects have performed rather well in the minors? Are you really saying you can't criticize a trade of a player when the team went out and replaced said player with Aaron Freaking Miles? None of us have said that Hendry is good on the FA market. He is good on the trade market, though. He's good when he gets to take other people's money problems off their hands, otherwise he's nothing special.

  3. Why do people mention OFFSEASON trades when I'm talking about IN SEASON trades especially at the deadline. why do only inseason deadline trades count? Hendry usually gets to take other people's money issues off their hands, that's his advantage at the deadline.
  4. I think you don't realize you stole my line. You could have ignored the person who questioned your freak out.
  5. How many triples do the Cubs have this week?
  6. What's your definition of awful then if it's not a guy who can't crack a starting rotation? When I'm saying not awful, I'm kind of responding to the thought that the Cubs have to have somebody better than this in the minors. Obviously Hart is not a good MLB starting pitcher. For his role though, Hart is exactly what you expect, maybe even a little bit better. A guy who would be expected to give you a 6 or 7 ERA in that slot would be an awful minor league replacement (and there are several of those around the league). So he's not an awful candidate to start 2-3 games a year? I can buy that.
  7. Here. Any day of the week. Yeah. It always should be applauded when a crappy pitcher gives back 2 runs after we scored 4. What the hell is wrong with you people?? So you can either flip out or applaud something, no in between?

  9. And I think it's ridiculous to pretend you have to watch a documentary about a freaking sports fan before you can criticize them for making it. Well that's just stupid. No doubt that a horrible defensive player who is very old would make a catch that nobody ever makes? Nobody makes catches up against the side wall at Wrigley that deep into the outfield. Yet you have no doubt Moises Freaking Alou was going to pull it off? That's nuts.
  10. Seriously? What crowd doesn't scream on contact? Yeah, I never got that criticism. So the crowd has to wait until the play develops before they can show emotion? What I'm saying is watching it on TV, you hear the crowd scream thinking something good happens. Then the camera shows a line drive at Matsui. Disappointment, that's all. How hard is it to follow the action yourself on TV?

  12. Why did Houston sac bunt earlier this inning?
  13. Why did it take so long to get my Fontel Mines fix?
  14. MLB Network is just a PR machine.
  15. That's a bunch of nonsense. Why do we have to watch before we can decide it's absolutely stupid to do a documentary on the guy? Alou wouldn't have made that catch. It would have been the most athletic thing he'd pulled off in 10 years at the time.
  16. For now at least. Za,bramo will pinch hit if they need one early.
  17. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/scotland/glasgow_and_west/8176236.stm Lots of dead scottish soccer players.
  18. I saw .91 on ESPN. Is this the difference between ground outs and air outs and all balls hit on the ground and all balls hit in the air?
  19. Oh, so SSR's original post was sarcasm? No I'm pretty sure he thinks cubs fans are obsessed with bartman and to blame for constantly bringing up this story.
  20. The problem with Wells is he pitches to a lot of contact and much of it is in the air. If he keeps most of that on the ground and has a k rate between 6-7, with minimal walks, he should maintain solid numbers. huh? his GB/FB rate is well above average. 0.91 GB/FB is well above average? It seems a little low for a guy who strikes out less than 6 per 9. I've seen a lot of warning track shots off the guy and plenty of line drive outs. The point is he pitches to a lot of contact and it can be tough to maintain solid numbers when you rely on your defense getting the job done, unless you are a groundball fiend.
  21. Hendry just keeps getting better all the time. Id rather we stayed internal also instead of giving up a good prospect for a month long Reed replacement. Odds are over the next month we face Im guessing, 5 LH starting pitchers at most. Depends on who that replacement is though. Reed sucks and he's overpaid. I'd like to let him walk this offseason. Plus they have very little internal OF talent. If they can get an affordable replacement I'd be all for it.
  22. Not obvious to all. I hear about Bartman from others and the media.
  23. I just dont see where Fuld fits on the team with Reeds injury. They need a RH CF not another lefty. If I had to guess, Fuld will stay down, and the Cubs will make a trade for a RH hitting CF who hits leftys really well. Andruw?
