  1. Brilliantly? They gained 43 yards over 3 drives in the first 1.5 quarters and 23 yards over 3 drives in the 3rd quarter. They punted 6 times. I think that game left a lot to be desired offensively.
  2. If his choices are coming back to Chicago and dealing with the fans, media, etc. or asking for his release, what would Bradley do? The MLBPA is better than the NFL union but if Bradley doesn't show up to ST, do the Cubs have to pay him? Another way around this is for Rickets to fire Hendry and then the new GM can say that Bradley gets a do over and they put all this behind them. And I'd have to think he'd eat less on the Hendry contract than Bradley's. If he doesn't show up to spring training they can start docking pay.
  3. Well I meant the more, I hate these [expletive] and the way they act(i.e. Moises Alou) I figured that's what you meant, but I'd have to say I feel very similarly about this team. Baker and Alou are gone, and I love Lee and Ramirez now more than ever, but Bradley has pissed me off a lot (and at least Alou performed that year), Zambrano has been annoying, Miles is the new Neifi and I'm more annoyed with Hendry than ever. The foisting of Heilman and Gregg on this team as "necessary" veteran bullpen arms is just as frustrating. And while it's not on the same scale, the misuse of Harden and abandonment of the extra rest and "pretreatment" brings up past incidents of stupid decisions with pitchers. 2004 was opportunity lost, but at least they were in it up until the end. 2009 has been opportunity lost and they only seemed to be in it for about 2 weeks, and crumbled much sooner.
  4. Where  Wherever BBB secretly congregates for games.
  5. First of all I don't think adults are calling a toddler the n word. Then I tried to picture a scenario in which an adult could direct that kind of angry aggression towards a little tyke. All I could picture was a 3 year old version of MB brooding and stomping around which could totally be reality but I still can't see that prompting racial slurs upon him. Okay, that's freaking awful if true, but I don't see anyway that it is true. Parents, teachers and their kids? Seriously?
  6. By the way, I need to get myself some free chorizo and eggs on Sunday.
  7. That's what I was thinking. This season really killed you guys this much by being in 1st place as late as August? And on the miserable to root for, this team isn't in the same galaxy as '04. I really don't understand. I think it's right there with '04, but neither of those compares to '05 and '06.
  8. He was arguably not one of the top RBs before those two games. He's solid at every facet of the game. Not necessarily saying he's elite at running the ball. 3.9 y/carry isn't good, but you have to consider the context and the crap offense he was in and the 8 man fronts he was facing. When he's as good as he is catching the football and in pass protection, I don't see how you wouldn't put him there. I didn't say he definitely wasn't, but there's a very good argument to say he's not among the best RBs in the conference let alone the league. I believe there are extenuating circumstances that explain some of his shortfalls, but the fact is the Bears have had several RBs have solid seasons since Neil Anderson and none of them have been top RBs in the league. Forte still has to do it. He's got a better line and a much better QB so there really isn't any excuse.
  9. Contrary to what EVERYBODY is saying, the Cubs don't have to deal Bradley. He wouldn't be the first player suspended by a team and then kept on the roster. He also wouldn't be the first guy to wear out his welcome, burn all bridges, and stay in town. If you have to eat his entire contract, get back nothing in return, and maybe even take on a similarly bad or worse contract, then just don't make a deal.
  10. I get the feeling they aren't going to be taking a step forward, but as long as they don't take a step back, I won't be all that disappointed.
  11. He was arguably not one of the top RBs before those two games.
  12. Yes, your inexplicable defense of Bradley certainly is.
  13. He's also the moron who signed that guy to a ridiculous contract that was always going to be a noose around this team's neck eventually. And you can't use injuries as excuse when you fill your team with 30-somethings who have injury histories.
  14. This is all kinds of ridiculous. Bradley is a prick who did this to himself why can't you accept this and stop pretending he's worth defending?
  15. What a cop-out. He had information at the time and the information said Hendry made the team worse in the offseason. It was said at the time. It's also been true that he's been here for several years with tons of money to spend and he's created far too many disappointing moves.
  16. Which is something that tends to lead to an entire group being labeled as racist. Dusty acted as though the only people who didn't appreciate him as a manager must have been racists, and Bradley has insinuated the same thing. People hate Bradley becuase he was a disappointing player and a complete [expletive], but he wants to act as though those people hate him because they are racist, and there are plenty of people who want to share that opinion. Plus, Bradley wants to pretend that racism is what ruined the Cubs/Bradley relationship even though it was completely due to his [thought this made up word was going to be censored].
  17. I'm kind of surprised they aren't trying to get Wells extra rest, after his crappy outing last time on 4 days rest, and all the innings he's racked up this year. They go from using Harden on normal rest far too often to giving him what appears likely to be far more rest than necessary. Why not put Samardzija/Marshall here, let Harden pitch on 6 days rest tomorrow and Wells on 6 days the game after that?
  18. I wouldn't say he was awful in the minors, but he didn't display numbers that would justify where he was drafted or support arguments that he's poised to be a quality starting OF.
  19. In the long run they're basically a wash. Yea 777 OPS to a 775 Ops, wow DeRo kicked his ass! Sits back and waits for the "but DeRosa has over 20 hr's and Bradley was brought you to be a run producer" crap. Well one plays multiple positions for a whole lot less money than the other. The comment was "DeRosa has been better than Bradley this year, the money is a non factor in that statement, and the multiple positions is a benefit, but it doesnt make the statement true. There was a comment that in the long run they are basically a wash, and that's a very vague statement that to me would have to take into account things other than straight batting lines. A players pay matters, it always does. They have a budget, and if they have to pay one guy a lot more to do the same thing as somebody else, it's a bad thing.
  20. It's definitely in the discussion.
